I opened my laptop excited to see if I was selected as the photographer of that company I applied for last month.
"I failed again? The standards of each company is increasing daily that they can't even appreciate my piece of art" I complained in order to prevent myself from being sad.
I lied on my bed and opened my phone it was full of notifications. I sighed when I saw a text message indicating that someone just sent me money.
"As much as I don't want to do anything right now if it's about money count me in" I jokingly said.
I always enjoyed smelling the fresh air, for me it was somehow comforting..
It somehow reminded me of you..
"Focus self. Focus" I said putting on a poker face again and continued to walk.
I was about to cross the street when I felt a hand grab my arm and pull me backwards.
"Huh?" I said with a surprised face. I turned around to see a man standing there still holding onto my arm.
"You were about to commit suicide there, miss" the man said in a worried manner.
"Oh sorry I didn't realized the green light was on, and thank you" I scratched my head as I felt embarrassed by my actions.
"It's fine, but promise me to avoid being distracted on the streets, 'kay?" he said with a smile, even with his mask on I can tell by his eyes that he's smiling.
"Promise!" I tried to hold in my laugh but I can't control it anymore.
I was surprised when he laughed along too..
Somehow I wished that moment didn't end..
But the light was red before I knew it and we both went our separate ways..
I kept thinking along the way..
Should have I asked for his name? Should I have asked him to chat for a while? Should have I asked if we can meet again sometime?
"He was just a stranger who helped you Aira. Nothing more, Nothing less." I whispered into the afternoon breeze.
Since I'm done getting the money I'm just going to buy some coffee.
"Hi! May I get your order?" the cashier greeted me with a smile.
"One iced americano please. I'll pay in cash." I said with a forced smile.
I have to wait for the coffee to arrive so I decided to take a sit in one of the unoccupied tables.
"What am I supposed to do? I failed to get into a company again. Should I just give up on being a photographer?" I said looking into the sky.
"Looking back, I didn't even wanted to be a photographer. I decided to pursue it because of him." These words came out of my bitter smile.
Tears started forming in my eyes until they called my number.
"One iced americano, for miss Saira" the cashier said as she read my name.
"Yes, that's me" I said as I wiped some tears off my face.
"Thank you for ordering, please come again!" she greeted me as I make my way out.
What subject should I photograph next? An animal? A house? The sky?
I was running out of options..
In all the years of my career never have I ever photograph a person
He was the only one I could photograph..
He was perfect in every angle, he was very obedient, he knows what I like and what I don't like.
He was perfect in my eyes..
So why did you have to go?
