OUR LAST PHOTOGRAPH

CHAPTER 2

I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing. It was raining so it was cold. I didn't want to get out of bed, but I was meeting someone important today.

I took a quick shower and grabbed the outfit I prepared last night.

"What a pain, I have to wear this in the cold weather" I said, annoyed on how thin the clothing material is.

I grab my bag filled with different equipment use for photographing.

As much as I hate rainy days, it is a perfect time to capture sceneries. 

I got inside the building, and it surprised me that the sound of the rain can no longer be heard.

I felt relaxed, the rain won't bother me as long as I'm here.

"Miss Evangelista!" I heard someone shout my name from afar, it was a voice of a girl.

I immediately ran up to the counter.

"The boss scheduled a meeting with you right Miss Evangelista?" the lady asked me.

"Ah yes, he told me to meet him at the 9th floor" I answered.

"Okay, here is the key to the room Miss Evangelista, you may proceed now" the lady said.

I was amazed on how professional she is, what more the people working here? 

"You really came my dear nephew!" Uncle greeted me right away that it surprised me a little bit.

"Of course, malakas ako sayo tito eh"It was hard to start a conversation with tito kasi gusto niya tagalog.

"Since we're at the company let's talk formally, so english it is for today" Phew, I thought I had to speak tagalog the whole day. 

Its not that I hated speaking tagalog, it's just that my uncle often uses deep tagalog words, to the point that I can't understand anything.

"So pamangkin ko, why did you want to work for me? Haha I was suprised when I saw your message yesterday."

"Actually tito..uhm..how do I explain this? Haha, tito my last interview didn't go well again..I'm running out of options na tito."

I didn't know why but I suddenly want to cry, si tito kasi yung palaging andyan para sakin. He was the one who suggested me to the director so that I can be on the job interview, yet pumalpak ulit ako.

"Listen pamangkin, why do you think I recommended you to him?"

"Because I have the potential?"

"Exactly, you don't need to be disappointed Aira..I know, and I'm sure that you tried your best."

"Sorry tito for being a total failure, I even ruined your image."

"Aira I did that because I trust you, pamangkin ko it's nothing. Your tito wants the best for you okay?"

I just nodded, for some reason natameme na lang ako. Parang pag nagsalita pa ako iiyak na talaga ako eh.

"Now stop sulking, I'm introducing you to someone today, be sure to be nice to him."

I pulled myself together because tito sounds serious na, so I nodded as a response.

We arrived at the 9th floor and went into a vacant room.

"Where is he? Don't tell me he's late again."

Halatang naiirita na si tito, kumukunot na noo eh. 

"He said that he will be here shortly..please sit down and wait for him Aira, I'll go get some tea."

"Ok po."

I played with my phone in order to relax myself for awhile. Just when I was about to put my phone down, the door opened.

'Its him'
