Y/n, a 14 year old boy, who is quite small for his age, is sat in his room, thinking about a story his mother told him 10 years ago.
-Many years ago...-
Leah : "Long ago, two races ruled over earth : HUMANS and MONSTERS. One day, the two races broke into a brutal and destructive war. After a long and bloody battle, the humans emerged victorious and sealed the monsters beneath the earth with a very powerful spell."
-10 years later...-
CURRENT DATE : 11/24/201X
Y/n : 'That's the story mom used to tell me... Let's see if the mountain is real.'
The boy eventually makes it to Mt. Ebbot, the mountain theorized to contain dangerous monsters sealed within. He climbs it, and comes into a cave. He comes across a hole in the middle of it, and walks over to it. But then he trips over a vine, and falls into the hole, meeting his demise after what felt like a painful 3 minutes of falling to the bottom of what he theorized to be a mountain burying a whole other race. We look at his bloodied body, right before he died, as he has a few good memories of his mother before she died, memories of her smile, her sweet voice, her slight overprotectiveness... And so, he meets the same fate... closing his eyes slowly, he perishes.

He opens his eyes with a slight jump, and looks around, finding himself in what appears to be a Dark Void.
Be looks to his right and finds another, much taller boy, with green eyes and a darker green tracksuit.
Y/n/??? : "..."
They both awkwardly stare at each other until Y/n builds up the courage to speak.
Y/n : "S-So, uh... any idea where we are ?"
Kazuma : "Unfortunately for you, no... I'm Satou Kazuma. What's your name ?"
Y/n : "I'm Y/n L/n."
They both hear footsteps behind them, before a soft, feminine voice spoke.
??? : "Satou Kazuma and Y/n L/n. Welcome to the afterlife."
They look back at the water-themed woman as she walks past them toward what seemed to be a throne.
??? : "Unfortunately, both of you passed away moments ago."
She sits in her throne and crosses her legs.
??? : "Your lives were quite short, but you are, in fact, dead."
Kazuma : "Just a question... What happened to the girl I saved ?"
??? : "She's alive."
Kazuma : "Oh... Thank God..." 'Guess my death wasn't in vain, afterall.'
She tilts her head slightly.
??? : "Actually, she wouldn't have gotten hurt, even if you hadn't pushed her out of the way."
Kazuma : "Huh ?"
