it was a cold dark winters morning when Bob Cratchit made his way into work. he paused outside the door and took a breath before pushing it open and stepping inside. His boss, scrooge, was already there, he always was. Bob was starting to wonder if he slept there. The only thing scrooge loved was money. Bob was sure he didn't even love himself. to put it simply, he was a misanthropist. Bob sighed and sat down, ready for a long day of work. today was the day he was going to ask scrooge for Christmas day off to spend with his family.

After a few hours, he had finally plucked up the courage to ash him. he stood up just as someone came into the office.
"A merry Christmas uncle! God save you!"
Bob sat down immediately. it was Fred, Scrooges nephew. Bob assumed he was going to ask Scrooge to christmas dinner again, like he did every year. Bob turned around to look at Fred. he was wearing that suit bob loved. it always made him look perfect, not that he didnt usually, but this dark blue was definitely his colour. his caramel hair complimented his suit, and his smile. his smile was the most beautiful thing Bob had ever seen. Fred looked over at Bob and smiled. Bob could look into those eyes all day. He flashed his teeth back as Fred walked into scrooges office. Bob sunk down into his seat. scrooge was never happy, and was always much less after Fred had visited. Hell, he was always angry after anyone visited. Bob looked back at his work and sighed. He could head Scrooges vicious words from the other room. Scrooge would never give bob Christmas day off now.
"And a happy new year!"
Bob turned to look towards the door to Scrooges office. He watched as Fred walked out. Scrooge looked extremely angry sitting there in his office. Bob wanted to be mad at Fred for ruining his chances, but he could never be mad at that beautiful man.
"Youll want all day tomorrow, i suppose?"
Bob jumped as he heard scrooge behind him.
"If quite convenient, Sir."
"Its not convenient," said scrooge, "and its not fair. if i was to stop half a crown for it, youd think yourself ill-used, i'll be bound?"
Bob smiled faintly.
"A poor excuse for picking a mans pocket every twenty-fifth of December!" said scrooge "But i suppose you must have the whole day. Be here all the earlier next morning."
Scrooge walked out and slammed the door behind him. Bob smiled. He grabbed his coat and made his way outside, locking the door as he went.

Bob walked along the london street, whistling to himself, excited to tell his family the good news.
"Bob!"
He spun around to face the voice he heard. it was Fred. He jogged up to Bob and gently touched his arm. Bob held his breath, trying not to show his excitement at this.
"Did my uncle give you Christmas Day off?"
Bob nodded
"Great! why dont you and the family come over tomorrow for Christmas dinner? Id love to have you there, and im sure my clara would love to talk to your emily."
Bob hesitated. They had always had Christmas as a family, but he desperately wanted to spend the day with Fred.
"okay, we'll be there." Bob said, smiling.
"Perfect! i gotta run. see you tomorrow, bob"
Fred let go of Bobs arm as he looked into his eyes and softly smiled.
"Bye..." bob replies, his heart racing as he watched Fred walk away. He couldnt wait for Christmas...
