Four Floating Petals

Notes/ introduction (kinda)

-Best read in dark mode (light is fine too)
-This type of writing can be confusing as it's like 4 separate stories smushed into one and none of them will be in first person so I can't really say stuff like "Niki POV" and stuff so the different perspectives will be indicated by rose colours (yes, roses are important in this story)
-The four main cast will have different colours and most chapters will only consist of one or two characters stories so don't worry, I don't want to confuse you too much
-Niki will be a pink rose
-Minx will be a purple rose
-Puffy will be a yellow rose
-Hannah will be a red rose
-There will not be much shipping (if any at all) with the main four so if you came for that... sorry...
-I dont mention the ages too much in the story so I'll just list them here

Introduction

A young girl stood at the front of the large banquet room, slightly shaking and sweating from nervousness. Her mother and older brother had passed away recently due to a plague that had spread through the kingdom so the right to the throne had to be passed down to her. She was only twelve so this was her first big ceremonious occasion.

She listened quietly as she heard the priest behind her giving his speech. "We bless the spirits of the Queen and Prince of Asteanna and pray that they have a peaceful journey to the afterlife."

Those words shook her to her core. It had been a few months since their death but she still couldn't help but tear up at every mention of them. Even worse she had so much pressure on her during the ceremony, it felt like she was carrying ten thousand bricks on her shoulders. Just as she was about to break down, she looked into the crowd and saw four of her friends.

Hannah Stengel, the daughter of a famous baker. Puffy Korneplody, who was currently training to be a knight. Minx Espina, the Princess of the Thalidien kingdom and Harris Feuille, the prince of the Perabeth Kingdom.

She saw them all standing in the back of the room, encouraging her to stay strong using hand gestures.

Niki sniffled and wiped the tears from her eyes and smiled at the crowd as the priest walked up to her, holding a golden tiara in his hand. Its cut was smooth and would fit perfectly on her head whilst it was the colour of pure gold with some silver highlights and in the centre was a pink and gold rose. "And with this, by the power vested in me, King Grover Kronblad and the kingdom of Asteanna, I now pronounce Princess Nihachu Kronblad as the rightful heir of the throne!" He announced whilst placing the delicate Tiara soundly on her head.

The crowd began clapping and cheering as her four friends ran up to her. They began cheering and hugging her, congratulating her on becoming the rightful heir, she didn't want this moment to end.

"Oh, Niki! You were so good up there! I can't even stand in front of a single Nobel man without making a scene," Minx chuckled as she pat Niki on the back. "I'll be your personal protector when you become Queen!" Puffy Exclaimed as she engulfed Niki in a hug. Hannah grabbed Niki's arm and started leading them all towards the entrance of the castle, "My parents said that they would cook us an excellent meal afterwards! Let's go!" She shouted and they all followed.

Years past but their friendship was still strong, in fact, their older age caused their friendship to grow even stronger. By now Harris had split off from the friends as he was always so busy so he never found the time to hang out with the rest of his friends. But all the others stayed close.

Niki was now a well respected and responsible Princess. Hannah took charge of her father's bakery with her younger brother working alongside her. Minx became well known for her aggressive behaviour and not being afraid to say what's on her mind and stand up for herself and her family and Puffy became a Captain of knights.
