Emily's pov:
I woke up the next morning and JJ was already awake. She was looking up at me and still holding onto my waist. "Good morning sweetie." I said leaning down to kiss her cheek. She blinked a few times.

I reached over and grabbed my phone from the end table. I called Hotch.

"Hey Emily what's up?" He said. "JJ's not doing to great. I don't think she's going to come into work today." I replied.

"She can take as much time as she needs off. We're all worried about her. Is she okay?" He asked. "Um... she will be with time."

That seemed to satisfy him. We said our goodbyes and hung up.

I rolled over to face JJ again. "So no work today." I said with a slight laugh. She stared at me. Still nothing. "Okay breakfast time." I said getting up and lifting JJ out of bed too.

We both brushed our teeth and headed downstairs. I found some frozen waffles in the freezer and decided to make those. We both ate and I took JJ back upstairs.

We sat on the bed together. "JJ say something. Anything. Can you hear me?" I was starting to get desperate. She didn't say anything. "Sweetie if you can hear the words that I'm saying tap your fingers."

Slowly she tapped a few of her fingers against the side of the bed. I felt some huge weight lift off my shoulders. "You're in there JJ." I said hugging her and kissing her forehead.

I noticed a sticky note hanging on the edge of her dresser. It said "med 1x daily". What meds? I walked into the bathroom and looked around the cabinet.
I didn't find anything.

Then I remembered something. JJ always hides stuff in her sock drawer. Everything actually. I went over to the dresser and dug out two pill bottles from the bottom of the drawer.

They were fairly new, she had only picked them up last week. I looked at the bottles. Prozac and Ativan. An antidepressant and a sedative. I assumed she started taking them after the abduction but didn't tell anyone.

I took one pill out of the antidepressant bottle and then put the bottle back. I grabbed a glass of water. I sat in front of JJ again. "Open."

She opened her mouth and I put the pill on her tongue before handing her the glass of water. She gulped it down.

I checked her mouth to make she she had actually taken it, and she had. "Good." I said placing a kiss on her cheek.

I took a seat on the bed next to her. "So you're not going to work. You can't sit at home all day. We need to get you out of the house." I said looking at her.

"What about the beach? You love the ocean." I said softly. JJ has always loved the ocean and the waves. I decided that maybe she needed a little time away from everything. Just from life.

"I'm going to book us a trip somewhere. It's going to be fun." I said squeezing her shoulder.

I grabbed my laptop and booked us the nicest hotel I could find. We're leaving tomorrow morning. I decided to pack our bags now so we could leave early in the morning.

I grabbed a small suitcase and threw in some clothes and some bathing suits. I packed toiletries and everything else that we might need. I grabbed the bottles from the sock drawer and threw them in the bag too.

We didn't have anything to do today. "Wanna watch a movie?" I asked JJ. She actually gave me a small nod. "Okay sounds like a plan!"

Even though it was a small thing I was happy about it. She wasn't speaking, but she was still communicating. I took her hand and brought her downstairs. We sat on the couch and I wrapped a blanket around the both of us. JJ snuggled into my lap and I turned on the tv.

We watched some cheesy rom com movies. They were sweet and actually pretty fun.

After the movie had ended Silence of The Lambs came on. I considered turning it off, but JJ didn't seem bothered by it so I just kept it on.

Every jump scare she would flinch a little bit and hold onto me tighter. It was really adorable.

After the movie was over I turned off the tv but JJ didn't get up. I was laying on the couch and JJ was pretty much laying on top of me. She was staring at me. Looking me straight in the eye.

Then she did something at really surprised me. She moved up to my face and kissed me on the lips. She kissed me hard. I was surprised, but immediately kissed her back. I was so in love with JJ but I never thought that she had felt the same way about me.

She sat up and looked very satisfied with herself. I couldn't help but grin. I sat up next to her and wrapped my hands around her waist, kissing her lightly again on the lips.

"I love you my sweet girl." I whispered pulling her close to me. She leaned forward and pressed her face up against my neck. She sat there holding onto me. Telling me she loved me without words.

I ordered Chinese food for dinner. We ate together and then cleaned up and went upstairs. I took a quick shower and then helped JJ take a bath.

We changed into our pyjamas and then JJ climbed into bed snuggling under the covers. She crawled on top of me and let her wet hair drip down on my face making me laugh.

She gently kissed me closing her eyes and hugging my me. I flipped us over so I was on top of her and kissed her gently on the tip of her nose.

She hugged my waist and rested her head on my shoulder. "Good night my love." I said smiling and closing my eyes. Slowly we both drifted off to sleep.

Around midnight I woke up to loud screaming. I looked over to JJ and saw her squirming and crying. She was having a nightmare.

I tried to shake her awake but when I touched her she just screamed harder. "JJ wake up wake up." I shouted over her screaming.

She woke up disoriented. She was shaking and sweating and tears were bubbling out of her eyes. When she looked over to me she grabbed my shirt and held onto me. I held her in my arms trying to get her to calm down.

I got her screaming to go down to a small whimpering. I pulled back the sheets and noticed that there was a wet pool between her legs.

"Oh baby did you wet yourself?" I said softly. Her face turned bright red and she started crying again. "Hey it's okay it's okay." I said kissing her forehead and pulling her out of bed,sitting on the floor with her in my lap.

She was still crying when I heard the phone ring. "Prentiss." I said sleepily picking up the phone.

"Emily?" I heard Spencer's voice. "I was trying to call JJ..."

I turned over the phone and realized that I had answered JJ's phone. "Oh sorry I thought this was my phone. What's up?" I said rubbing JJ's back still trying to console her.

"Oh well I think it's late there the team and I are on a case. I just wanted to check in. Is she doing okay?" He asked me. "Um yeah she's doing fine." I said. It was only partially a lie. "Okay I'll let you guys get some rest. Hope she's back soon we need her." He said with a slight laugh before hanging up the phone.

I turned back to JJ who was very upset. I got up and took the bedsheets off the bed and replaced them with new ones. I went back to JJ and peeled off her wet pants and underwear.

I grabbed a wash cloth and wet it with water wiping her up with it. I helped her change into some new clothes before picking her up and crawling back into bed.

Instead of coming closer to me she rolled all the way to the edge of the bed and faced away from me. She was embarrassed.

I grabbed her hand. "Baby look at me please." I sighed. Slowly she turned around and faced me. "Don't be embarrassed. It was just a nightmare. You just got scared it's okay. I'm always going to love you. And I'm always going to be there to help you when you're scared." I said placing a soft kiss on her lips and pulling her closer to me.

She rolled over and hugged me. I wrapped my arms around her and drew circles on the small of her back while she rested her head on my shoulder.

"I love you my beautiful girl. To the moon and back and back again." I whispered to her. Slowly she closed her eyes. Her breathing started to even out.

After she fell asleep still holding onto me tightly, I let my eyes close and drifted off to sleep myself.
