She shook those thoughts off, something tells her now was not the time to question such things. Her instincts were on high alert, and she scanned the forest around her. When she saw a broadsword next to her- she reached to grab it, only for a grunt of pain to escape her. She was sore, especially in her arms. Eventually she powered through the pain that shot through her muscles- one hand grabbing the broadsword while the other pushed against the ground in a feeble attempt to gain her footing. As she slowly rose from the ground she gripped the sword in her D/h. Once risen she took the sheath off of the sword and held it in her O/h.
Taking herself in, she inspected her clothing- soft wool pants that were strung loosely against her waist with a piece of rope. Almost instinctually, she undid the rope before tying it to the sheath- which now rested on her hip. She dawned a white, cotton, long-sleeved, button up shirt that had the two top buttons undone. Upon further inspection she noticed her lack of shoes. She slowly approached a stone pathway in front of her, tracking her surroundings carefully.
It couldn't have been more than forty minutes before she heard a dangerous growl. Looking around; she noticed a set of glowing red eyes to her left. Her sword was drawn as the beast leapt from the shadows with speed. Her muscles pulsed under the stress of her tensed arm as she sloppily slashed at the beast while taking a stumbling sidestep. Her strike landed against the beast, causing it to slow its pace. She took time to study the beast- it was a wolf like creature with fur as black as night and glowering red eyes. It snarled at her before charging again- this time the girl was more prepared. Pushing down the pain in her muscles she slashed at the beast again while taking a firmer step back. This slash landed with force, knocking the beast back into a tree. This made it howl with pain, and the leaves of the tress shook from the noise. The girl almost fell, and she struggled to keep herself straight as a rush came to her head. The beast saw this and ran at her, a paw raised and ready to swipe down. As it charged closer the girl steadied her stance- spreading her legs and crouching lower to the ground. She saw the incoming strike and instinctively raised her left arm as though she had some form of protection attached to it. Her right arm held the sword out- and as the creature's strike landed on her arm her sword plunged forward into it's chest. Blood ran down her arm, and an immense pain came with it- but the beast had it worse as it screeched and squirmed before surrendering itself. The girl pulled her blade from the beast and watched as it faded to dust before her eyes. She gripped her arm before grunting, simply choosing to carry on as the had nothing to bandage the wound with. It was only a four clawed slash, and it didn't seem fatal.
It had been hours of walking by now, and the girl had seen at least ten of the wolf creatures. By now she had their fighting style down by memory, but it didn't come without injury. Each time she felt in danger, her O/h would raise to defend her, and take a hit it wasn't prepared to hold off against. This left it weak, and dripping blood- slowly leaving a trail behind her. Her body sagged from fatigue and blood loss- and she new if she didn't find safe haven soon she might not survive this forest. She followed the stone path all the way to a stone structure- but it was unstable and wouldn't provide for shelter, so she kept walking. The sun was slowly falling, and she was beginning to see the structure of a shattered moon. The girl had considered stopping to rest long ago, but decided against it with her limited time. She was starting to regret that decision now as fatigue plagued her. She stopped walking, eyes closed so that they may rest, when she heard it. Another growl- but this one was much deeper than any wolf creature she had heard before. She opened her eyes and moved slowly- hoping to not startle whatever had appeared behind her. Her hope was crushed when a roar sounded out- and she was suddenly sent flying from a powerful hit to the back. She crashed chest first into a tree, and wheezed as the wind was knocked from her lungs. She slid down the tree- before rolling over, just in time, as a large paw crashed onto the ground where she had just been laying. Taking a glance at the beast, it appeared similar to a wolf creature with black fur and red eyes- except this one took the shape of a rather large bear. One could almost say it was "major". She rolled again- avoiding another large paw, before getting to her feet. The creature stood on it's hind legs before letting out a massive roar, shaking the trees and ground around it. It got back on all fours and the girl readied her weapon in a fighting stance before taking charge. The beast also charged- but the girl cleverly slid under it while landing a slash on it's belly, completely ripping up the grass beneath her feet. It let out a smaller roar of pain as it slowed to stop itself before the tree line. The girl panted as she rose to her feet, before drawing her blade just in time as a large paw crashed down against it. Their two strengths clashed, before the girl was slammed in her side by the beast's second paw. Her left side crashed into a tree while her sword was sent flying from her hand. The beast stalked towards its prey with glaring eyes, and the girl ripped the sheath from her "belt". Holding it in her D/h, she bashed the beasts head as a last resort- but it proved feeble when the creature up-roared. The sheath was ripped from her grip- and as the beast landed with a thump on all fours she threw her dead-weight of an arm in front of her as a last line of defense. The last thing she heard before everything went black, was a mortifying screech that she couldn't even realize came from her own throat.
Nearby a woman with blonde hair and green eyes stalked through the forest, doing a round of patrol to see what could possibly be disturbing the forest right before sundown. When a pained screech reached her ears- her first instinct was to cover them, but she pushed the urge down and raced towards the sound. When she arrived at the scene she was mortified- an Ursa Major was rapidly tugging and pulling at a small girl's forearm. The bloody mess of what remained of the girl's arm was enough to still her for a moment- but that didn't last long. Pulling out her riding crop a purple glow surrounded it, and traveled to the sharpest object in sight. A few feet away a simple broadsword was surrounded by purple mist before raising off the ground. Not waisting any time- with a flick of her wrist the ursa major was beheaded. Glynda Goodwitch used her semblance to pick the unconscious body of the young girl up. She waisted no time as she started sprinting back to her workplace; Beacon Academy.
It was a twenty minute sprint, and by the time Glynda arrived at the gates of beacon- it was dark out. She kept running, not stopping until she reached the medical office of Beacon. She burst into the room, and while her semblance gently laid the girl flat down on her back, she ran around the room looking for anything to stop the girl's bleeding arm. As she pulled out a white towel the doctor of Beacon ran in- and quickly assessed the situation. She questioned Glynda while she worked to pull out supplies.
Doctor: "Where did you find her? What happened?"
Glynda: "She was in The Emerald Forest, an ursa major got to her arm before I found her. How can I help?"
Doctor: "Hook her up to the heart monitor, and try to boost her aura! I need to take a look at her arm."
The doctor rushed over, staying away from the machine while Glynda worked to hook the poor girl up. A nurse walked into the room- before rushing out.
Nurse: "I'll go get the Headmaster!"
The doctor cursed as she inspected the girl's arm, and Glynda's eyes shined with worry.
Glynda: "What is it?"
Doctor: "Her forearm took too much damage- it's nothing but deadweight at this point."
The beeping of the heart monitor started as Glynda finished hooking it up.
Glynda: "What's that mean?"
Doctor: "Well, we can either attempt to heal it, and she'll never move anything from the elbow down again..."
Glynda: "Or?"
Doctor: "Or we can amputate it. We could give her a prosthetic and she would still have a working arm. It would also increase her chance of survival because it's less of a wound."
While Glynda wasn't okay with preforming the medical procedure without the girl's consent, she would much rather live to deal with the backlash of the girl's rage. She slowly started attempting to transfer aura.
Glynda: "If it increases her chance of survival then we should do it."
Doctor: "Without consent!?"
Glynda: "I'll deal with whatever backlash happens, I'd just must rather she lived to be angry with us."
The Doctor nodded her head before ushering Glynda out while several medical staff rushed in. Outside Glynda came face to face with Ozpin, and she could only give him a grim look before the two started walking to his office together.
