It was just about daybreak whenever the girl opened her eyes. She was squinting up at the ceiling, bright lights assaulting her eyesight. She blinked ever so slowly before she tried to fully open her eyes. Upon completing her task she turned her head left and right, slowly assessing that she was hooked up to strange machines. She noticed an IV bag, filled with a clear substance, and instantly grew alert when she realized it was hooked into her arm. Her head lifted from the pillow it rested on, looking down and noticing she had a change of clothes. Now she was in a light blue gown that seemed almost paper thin, and she noticed that most of her body was tucked under a thin white sheet. She slowly attempted to rest on her left elbow so that she may lift up the blanket with her right hand- but the attempt failed when she was suddenly racked with an extreme wave of pain. A scream left her throat before she could stop it- and she could only curse herself quietly as she heard footsteps from outside.

She ripped what was supposed to be her arm out from underneath the thin sheet, and her eyes widened while she sat in a state of shock looking at a stump wrapped in bandages where her arm should have been. The door slammed open, only adding to the girls growing panic as she whipped her around to look at it. It revealed two people, one of which ran the opposite direction when she saw the girl's scared figure. The girl kept her eyes locked on the person in the doorway, who seemed to be assessing the situation. She walked forward slowly, keeping her hands in the air as if to show she wasn't a threat.

Doctor: "Hey.. I know you're scared.. but it's okay.. you're safe here."

The girl's eyes never moved- but tears slowly filled them as different emotions started to overwhelm her. Her D/h slowly moved to the stump that was left of her O/h arm, and her teeth grit together while she choked back a sound. The doctor progressed carefully into the room, slowly getting closer to the girl.

Doctor: "Hey, it's alright.. I can explain everything- but I need you to take deep breaths for me."

The girl either didn't notice or didn't acknowledge her words, but she kept choking back any noise that attempted to escape her.

Doctor: "Hey, take deep breaths for me alright. I need you to breath."

The girl finally let a breath of air in, and that was all it took for her to crack. She started to wail as she hunched over, confused and scared in a place completely foreign to her while missing an arm. The doctor rushed forward to embrace the girl, who clung to her as well as she could while sobs escaped her.

Doctor: "I got you, it's okay to let it out.. it's alright to be afraid."

After some time the girl's sobs slowed to sniffles as she tried to even out her breathing. The doctor held her close and rubbed her back gently while she calmed down.

Doctor: "Are you feeling better?"

The girl simply nodded, and the doctor handed her a glass of water. The girl took it and slowly dipped from, feeling relief flood her as the liquid ran down her throat.

Doctor: "I am Professor Peach, do you have any idea how you got here?"

The girl nodded her head, coughing a bit as she opened her mouth to speak.

Girl: "I woke up.. in the forest.. and I fought the wolves.. before the.. the bear thing... it went for my arm.."

Peach: "That's right, and you fought so bravely against it. You're such a brave knight."

The girl blushed at the small praise, before she blinked tears out of her eyes.

Girl: "W-Where am I..?"
