After the large birds had flown off, it went quiet, leaving the young adults and the Aiders in a stiffened state. Kyle shifted in his place, feeling more uncomfortable by the second. He looked around, making eye contact with Jim. Jim gave the same pained expression, tension building up in the area around him.
"Look out!" One of the Aiders yelled.
Kyle and Jim looked back to where they were previously looking to see black flames aiming towards them and the group of earth Aiders that had appeared behind them. The flames came down in a spiral, bending at a sharp angle before rushing right at the boys and the girls.
"Duck down!" Kyle shouted as he jumped downwards onto his stomach, the other three friends following his actions.
The water Aiders dived down into their home while the wood ran towards the trees, trying to hide from the black flames. They collided with an Aider, catching him on fire, screams came from the Aider as he fell into a heap, his screams continuing.
Jim tried to block out the sound, clenching his teeth in frustration. "We need to fight!" He looked up at the flames above them, seeing them diminish at a steady pace.
"I don't think that's possible right now!" Hunter yelled over the sound of the roaring fire.
Jim ignored Hunter's comment and closed his eyes, focusing on the river next to them with his energy concentrated in his left fist. Small ripples began to appear in the water, their size increasing in mere seconds, causing white caps on the great hills of water as they began to collide with the dirt on the edge of the river. Jim jerked his left hand to the right, pulling the large hills over the fire and making them collapse. The sound of steam could be heard as the water rushed away from their bodies, puddles of water boiling on the ground.
"I'm wet again!" Ash complained. She got up and looked in front of her, seeing what seemed to be water Aiders, but their water was black, almost impossible to see through.
"Ash, get back," Jim put his large hand on Ash's shoulder and pulled her behind him. He looked at the dark Aider, eyebrows pressed down and scrunched together. "Why do you look different from the rest of the Aiders?"
She responded with a yell and ran at Jim head on, her form merging into many spikes right at him. Jim froze, only seeing the large mass of water spikes coming at him. More water engulfed the spikes, hiding them under a lighter form of water as they collided with Jim's body and hitting Ash behind. As the water filled the ground behind them, the black and clear water separated and created two female forms once again, the lighter one attacking the dark one as she erupted a bright light from her body. The two forms collided and merged once again, bursts of dark and light energy being shot through the two Aiders.
"Hey!" Hunter yelled at Jim and Ash as she knocked what seemed to be a black-colored fire Aider down to the ground with a broken branch she had found. Hunter looked at them as she started to take combat with a black water Aider. "Stop standing there and fight these guys! There are only fire-based and water-based black Aiders here. Jim, take on the ones with fire, I'll handle the water ones." She hit another one in the head, the black water splashing everywhere as Hunter did so.
Jim nodded his head as he ran at two black forms of fire Aiders, the two looking at Jim as they heard him yell at them. "Go back to whatever place you came from!" Jim raised his hand and created a tower of water behind the two male figures, making it collapse on the beings. The only remains being puddles of boiling water.
Black fireballs were shot into Jim's back, a cry coming out of his mouth from the searing pain. He whipped around and saw a brunette woman clad in black clothing, two of the black fire Aiders standing on her sides. She had her right arm raised and pointing at Jim.
