Castiel Novak was the best guitarist on the Wayward Son Campus, in fact he was probably the best guitarist in all of Kansas. This made him the most popular and well-known student in college, every single girl wanted him, seeking attention by doing small things for him: Inviting him to dances, bars, and parties. Especially a little chubby dark-haired girl named Meg Masters, who practically stalked him. And while he considered himself bisexual, he leaned towards boys.

Cas had a problem. His biggest dream was to become famous and well-known one day, but to do that he had to get noticed, and to get noticed he had to preform for the students on the campus. It didnt matter how popular he was, Castiel wouldnt be accepted for gigs if he didnt have a partner, so, the auditions started. He let people come up to his dorm room to show him what they had and how good they truly were, but honestly they were all pretty terrible... Cas checked his list of auditions, his eyebrow wrinkled as he read through the names, seeing one more. Great. One more chance at getting a partner for his small band... The name read: Dean Winchester, which Cas couldve sworn he had hard before, though being a big shot on campus didnt mean he knew everyone by their face and name.

When he heard the shy knock on his front door, Cas stood, opening it to reveal a spiky haired boy, about his age, maybe a year or so younger, with a dark green guitar swung over his shoulder, matching his perfectly forest-green eyes. Once he registered who this was, Cas smiled slightly. Word spread quickly throughout WSC and he knew how openly gay Dean was. He was one of the nerdy guys, though Castiel knew he was nice and approachable. Cas himself was actually pretty shy deep down, but he had gotten good at hiding it,

"Hey...Winchester.. is it?" He asked, expecting a flirty remark. Dean flashed him a small smirk, his perfect teeth showing through his parted lips,

"So you've heard of me, Novak?" He purred. Of course Dean knew who he was. Castiel was a superstar on campus, not to mention he was gorgeous. Dean on the other hand... Rock guitarist and openly gay didnt really go together. Thats how people knew him, if they knew him at all, since he wasnt all that popular. Honestly he was surprised Cas even knew his name, but he tried to stay professional, this was an audition after all.

"I know almost everyone on campus" Cas replied simply, closing the door behind Dean before leading him to his living room, taking his own place on the couch.

"Okay, you pick the song, and if you're good, I'll see how we sound together" He instructed, stating the same thing he had told all of the other people auditioning... He was just hoping that Dean actually had talent. Dean nodded, still smirking as he swung his guitar around and started strumming. Unlike most people, Dean knew exactly what he was doing, which Cas noticed as he strung out the acoustic version of Sister Christian, a song with both soft and rough parts, so he could show off his skill.

Castiel watched with a smile on his lips. Finally someone someone had talent. But Dean Winchester didnt only have talent, he was extremelly good. When the younger man had finished, Cas stood, grabbing his own guitar,

"Alright, you sound great, lets see how we do together" He said

"Back in Black AC/DC" he instructed, glancing at the other guitarist, before starting, smirking to himself when Dean joined in. Thats when Cas raised his voice to a shout, singing the lyrics to the song. When they were finished, Castiel was beaming from ear to ear, panting slightly,

"you're amazing..." He whispered under his breath, then blushed in realization at what he had said,

"I-I mean..your.. guitar sounds..amazing.. I didnt mean-" he stuttered, stumbling over his words, frowning at himself for getting so flustered over this boy. Dean watched him, blushing a little himself at the praise. Though he smirked knowingly when Cas started tripping over his words. So... he had made a good impression after all.

"You're not so bad yourself" He cut in, saving Cas from his own tongue. But then he remembered his place,

"You're incredible actually" He corrected himself. He had heard Castiel play before (who hadnt?), but playing with him was even more amazing then just watching. Plus watching up close was so much better then watching from a distance. He saw the sweat dripping down the side of his face, saw the way his chest rose and fell with each perfectly timed breath, the passion he put into playing and singing, the way his eyes narrowed with concentration (now that Dean was up close for the first time he noticed that they were a shocking blue), and the way his long fingers moved expertly over the neck and fretboard of his guitar...Mm.. Dean blushed deeper as he caught himself starting to daydream.

Castiel smiled and looked over at him,

"okay, here, give me your nuber so I can text you to tell you if you made it or not" He said, handing over his phone, which Dean eagerly typed his number into. Cas had no doubt in his mind at this point.. Dean Winchester was going to be his partner.
