Scarlett's POV

*The picture above is what Scarlett looks like*

I woke up to the alarm screaming with its annoying sound "Time for work" I thought.
I hit the snooze and got up out of bed putting my slippers on. I yawned and rubbed my eyes as I walked to the kitchen to have a cup of coffee. When I got into the kitchen I started the stove to cook up some bacon and eggs. Following my morning schedule I went into the bathroom to get myself ready for work. I am a nurse that works at a hospital in the city of San Antonio. I put my hair up in a bun and put my scrubs on. I heard the timer for the stove as it beeped on as I finished with my make up. I walked back into the kitchen, cracked some eggs, and got the bacon out and onto the stove. The smell of breakfast was wonderful as always, but sadly I don't have anyone to share it with. I have no family what so ever. My parents died when I was sixteen of a fire, luckily I escaped. They left me there Will and about 3 hundred-thousand dollars so I made a living for myself. I went to college and got a degree in nursing. I had my friend Annabeth with me but she was getting a degree in business, so we don't see each other that much anymore. Once breakfast was done I grabbed a plate out from the cabinet and set up a good breakfast. The eggs were nice and scrambled and the bacon was nice and crispy, nothing what so ever could ruin my day. Turns out I jinxed it, all of a sudden smoke started coming out from the oven and soon turned to fire. "What in the world!" I yelled and dropped everything in my hand. I ran to grab a fire extinguisher from the hallway of the apartments. I could feel my adrenaline kicking in as I put out the fire before it spreaded anywhere. I dropped the fire extinguisher and sat down in relief. After about a minute I looked at the time on the wall "8:00" it stated.
"Oh my gosh! I'm late for work!" I yelled as I jumped out of the chair and grabbed my purse to head out the door. I hopped into my big black truck and went off with it.

Annabeth's POV

I checked into work and went to my office to start with another boring day. "Good morning." One of the workers said. "Good morning." I replied as I went into my office. I organized papers and cleaned off my desk before I sat down. I logged into my computer and put my headphones on. "Ring Ring" the phone yelled as I connected the call.
"Mikes Appliances how may I direct your call?" I questioned with a precise tone.
"Hey Annabeth!" Said Scarlett on the phone as I imagined a smile on her face. "Hey long time no talk," I said with excitement "how are you!"

"I'm doing good, busier than ever."
Scarlett chuckled over the phone.
"Ya same here, I feel like I can never get a brake." I replied twirling my headphone set with my fingers.
"Well hey I have a question for you.." Said Scarlett.
"Yes.." I replied slowly.

"I have a break later this evening and I was wondering if you wanted to go to the park and maybe have dinner afterwards?" She questioned.

"Hmmm I will have to check my schedule, but if it is all clear then I can go." I replied as I looked at my schedule on the computer muttering to myself.
After about a minute I found my schedule and luckily everything was clear.
"It all looks great I will see you later this evening." I said happily.
"Ok see you then Annabeth, goodbye." Then Scarlett hung up.
I disconnected the call and went about my boring work looking forward to that evening. As I did my job and worked on the computer I heard a slight eerie pitch through my headphones.
The sound was loud, high, and hurt my ears so bad that I took them off. But still I could here this screaming pitch, so I ran out of my office with my hands over my ears.
I ran for the break room and sat down in a chair, I couldn't hear the sound anymore thankfully but I could feel a cold spot in the room. I got up to leave but the door shut all by itself in front of me. The lights started to flicker off and on repeatedly until another worker came into the room leading it all to a stop. I Looked around in shock and went back to my office space putting my headphones back on. I was creeped out by what was going on but I had to continue my work until I was done for the day. Sitting there I started to miss my family and i started thinking about that tragic day. I had a mom and a brother who died in a tragic car crash coming home with my Christmas presents on Christmas Eve. More than anything I wish I had them back.
