A/N - I can't believe I'm actually done with writing this mini season! Thank you to all who have stuck with it until the end. I really hope everyone enjoys reading this even half as much as I enjoyed writing it. I know there are infinite ways the final battle could really go down, so I chose to go with one that I think wraps up the series pretty well - at least for now ;) Please feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Stay miraculous!

Ladybug and Chat Noir stood beside each other, facing Hawkmoth. There was a pause where nothing happened. It was silent as the heroes stared down the villain. The tension was palpable and the moment seemed to stretch on forever, when in reality, it was only a few seconds. Then, the fighting began.

Though it was two against one, Hawkmoth held his own. He countered their attacks and even got in some hits of his own. It was quickly becoming a stalemate, all parties tiring out equally as fast.

It was almost possible for Chat to forget the monster in front of him was his father. He realized that it didn't bother him as much as it should to be physically fighting his father, though. It was cathartic in a way, taking out the anger when he knew the attacks wouldn't actually harm the villain under the magic suit.

Ladybug knew the only chance they would have to gain the advantage was with her lucky charm, but as soon as she used it, she knew they would only have minutes to end the fight. Ladybug and Chat continued to circle Hawkmoth and when Chat was in front of him, Chat's eyes connected with Ladybug's for a second, silently asking if it was time.

Ladybug nodded behind Hawkmoth and Chat attacked with renewed vigor, happy to be the distraction.

"Lucky charm!" Ladybug called on her power and was awarded with a spotted seam ripper. As she stared at the small object in her hand, she questioned how something so small could be the key to their success. She had to act fast. She turned her attention to Chat's stick, then to the butterfly miraculous, and finally to the charm.

She made a gesture to Chat that resembled throwing a bowling ball. Chat worried about relinquishing his weapon, but he trusted Ladybug, so he rolled his stick at Hawkmoth's ankles, causing him to fall to his knees.

Without a second thought, Ladybug launched herself into the air, twisting so that she was above Hawkmoth. They glared at each other, face to face. In a swift motion, Ladybug used the seam ripper to detach the miraculous from below his collar. She landed on the other side of the now de-transformed Gabriel Agreste.

"Way to go, M'Lady!" Chat cheered, snatching the butterfly brooch out of the air and grabbing his stick.

She scarcely believed they had actually done it, that they had defeated Hawkmoth. "Miraculous Ladybug!" She fixed any of the damage she had caused as Lady Luck.

The celebration was premature. Gabriel pulled a back-up plan from his jacket pocket. "Duusu, spread my feathers!" Gabriel transformed into Paon.

Paon used a feather to create the giant moth-like sentimonster that he had used before and he sent it straight at Chat Noir.

Chat, needing both hands to fight off the moth, did the only thing he could think of with the butterfly miraculous: he put it on. "Plagg, Nooroo, unify!" Chat's mask and gloves turned purple and a butterfly insignia appeared on his chest. He also now had the staff that he tucked into his belt.

Ladybug could tell Chat Violet was struggling to fight off the sentimonster, but she was too busy with Paon to help. Paon knew it was only a matter of minutes before Ladybug's transformation wore off, exposing her identity and leaving her powerless.

Ladybug was quickly losing hope. Chat was backed into a corner, she had no lucky charm left, and her earring had only one spot remaining. "Chat!" She cried out worriedly.

"I'm a little busy, M'Lady!" He called back after being flung into the wall by the monster's powerful wing flap.

"No!" Ladybug shouted, as her transformation wore off and she sunk down to her knees, just Marinette. Tikki laid beside her, completely drained, just looking at Marinette with fear in her eyes.

"The baker's daughter!" Paon chuckled. "I should have known. So many of your classmates were the other miraculous holders. All this time I was thwarted by a child no older than my own son. Well, no more, it is time to hand over the ladybug miraculous." He walked over to her expectantly.

"Chat, I need you." She called weakly across the room.

"He can't help you now. He'll soon be handing me his miraculous as well." Paon sneered at her.

Chat saw Marinette sitting there helpless. He knew he wouldn't be able to make it over there, but maybe she didn't have to be helpless. He grabbed the staff and charged one of the floating white butterflies. Instead of it turning a stormy black and purple, the butterfly was a brilliant white and lavender color. He sent it toward Marinette. "M'Lady, don't lose hope. You can do this. I love you."
