(Gilinsky's POV)
"Hey dork." I said as I pushed her books down to the ground. Those were Sophia's books."Asshole!" She yelled back as she picked her textbooks and her friend, Vanessa, helped her and gave me a 'what the fuck, dude?' look. My friends were satisfied, but I felt empty.
"She's a nerd, but she's hot." Jack Johnson admitted. Sam Wilkinson smiled and I fake chuckled. I didn't want to do this, but I needed to protect my reputation, as well as hers.
"Class has begun. Take your seats." Mr. Brown stated as he entered the classroom. We all sat down and I sat down behind Sophia. I kicked the back of her leg softly and she looked back and laughed, then quickly turned back around.
"Sophia, since you seem to be so chatty this morning with Mr.Gilinsky, why don't you report what you've found out about your partner on the article project." He scolded. She stood up in front of the class and began speaking.
"My partner, Jack Finnegan Gilinsky, is a self-absorbed, ignorant asshole who doesn't care about anyone else. He has a poor worth ethic and little to no self control. If only he put that pretty face of his to good use."
That hurt.
"Mr.Gilinsky, care to reply?" Mr.Brown asked, now deeply into the conversation
"Yes, I'd like to reply. Sophia Fitzgerald, also known as a conceided bitch. She acts like she's better than everyone, yet she's not. Just because she's the dumb valedictorian. That won't matter later on. No one will care about the dumb speech you're gonna give in 5 years. No one cares if your mom doesn't show up to see your speech..."
"Mr.Gilinsky, that's enough." Mr Brown scolded.
"No that's not enough. I have hated you since the first day I met you and I swear to god it will never change..."
"This isn't funny anymore, Jack." she spoke softly, tears brimming in the corners of her eyes. I made her cry.
"Don't bother showing up today, okay Jack. I'm sorry, Mr.Brown, I have to go. Give me a detention I don't care. I'm leaving." She said before storming out of the class and sobbing.
The room was silent, and the only sound was of her shoes along the floor."I'm sor.."
"I don't care what you have to say, Gilinsky. Now, you are going to take that nice little car of yours and fix whatever mess you just got yourself into because in the four years I've been her literature teacher, I have never seen that girl cry. Go fix it, now!" he demanded. I took out my car keys and my bag and ran to my car and drove to her house.
-
"Jack, go away!" She screamed, now trying to get me out. She tried to get me off her couch, but she couldn't"I didn't mean it! I got mad and I don't know, I got out of control." I explained.
"You went too far, Jack! You crossed the line when you talked about my my mom!"
"Stop being so stubborn and just listen to me!" I screamed. I wanted to grab her waist and kiss her, but a part of me still wanted to be mad at her.
"No. If you are going go that far just to protect your ego, fine go ahead. Just count me out." She said, now silent as she ran her fingers through her hair. I made the love of my life cry. I screwed up this time. But even after I screwed up, I kissed her, and she didn't pull back. This is what she wanted me to do all along. Suddenly, we hear the door unlock.
"Fuck, hide hide hide!" She whispered. I ran upstairs to her room and hid in her closet.
(Sophia's POV)
The door opened to reveal the tall, slim figure that was my brother. I stared at him in shock because he wasn't supposed to be here for another 6 months."Hey Matt! What are you doing here?!" I cheered in excitement as I hugged him. I missed having him around.
"I was supposed to be in Ontario for my job, but I heard Mom went back to Florida so I came back to take care of my little sister." He said, mocking my age. Matthew was 23 and was a spitting image of my father, but my brother hated being compared to him.
"And I brought you a gift." he added. I smiled at him and he put his backpack on the dining table. He took out two tickets.
"I didn't really know what to get you so I asked some girls at the airport and they said that MAGCON was cool now, so I got you a ticket for the San Fransisco. The other ticket is the plane ticket which leaves in two weeks." He explained. I started to crack up and he punched my arm softly.
"Were the girls you asked like 12?" I joked. He scoffed and hugged me again. I missed my brother so much.
Now I was thinking of Jack. I had a whole weekend of him to myself. No argueing, no faking, just us. This was going to be a long two weeks before the show.
