El arrived at her new house in California. It was older than she expected and it felt... different. As she walked up to her room, she looked out the window into the scorching deserts out on the horizon. When she finally got to her room, she noticed something, something she'd never had before. A telephone. In her room! She was too stunned to speak. She dialed the only number she knew. Mike's.
"Hey El, how's California" Mike asked
"Good I guess..." said El "But-"
"But what-" asked Mike
"I just-" El started
"Miss me?" Mike interjected, "i miss you too El"
El had thought about her relationship with Mike on the long drive down. He had treated her horribly, why should she stay? That was the moment El knew. And she was not afraid to tell Mike .
"No Mike" she said, her voice with an undertone of anger, "I think we should break up"
"WHAT THE FUCK EL?!" yelled Mike "THIS IS SO RANDOM. IM THE ONE REAL THING YOU HAVE DON'T THROW THAT AWAY"
"Well than maybe you shouldn't have been such a douchebag and treated me like crap" said El and then she promptly hung up the phone.

After a couple hours of processing what had happened, El went downstairs to Joyce, to ask a simple question.
"Hey Mom" El asked, "What's Max's phone number"
Joyce gave El the number, looking a bit surprised that El had called her mom as El walked upstairs.
El dialed the number, and after a few dial tones was greeted with her favorite voice.
"Hey It's Max" said Max's voice
"Max, it's El" El replied
"El, oh my gosh" Max said, "there's something we need to talk about"
