I moved forward, but hey there, who is she...
I kept moving, the difference was, with every step my anxiety was increasing.

No matter what, I had to not show this up on my face.
Slowly and steadily, I reached upto them.

"Hi Mala!" he greeted me cheerfully.

"Hi!" I faked a smile.

"So as I promised, I had a surprise for you. Here, meet Vedika. My special one!"

"Nice to meet you Vedika!" I said confidently, "Actually Rahul, if you don't mind, I will see you some other day. Aaj meri ek bohat important meeting hai. You guys have fun. Yahi toh time hai tum logo ka. Enjoy it to the fullest."

"Not fair yaar Mala! You are my bestfriend.." Rahul complained.

"I know, but its important, its about my new book." I said.

"Uhh! Okay! Just because its about your carreer..." He finally agreed.

"But promise us, you will meet us soon." interrupted Vedika. "Haina Rahul"

"Yes!"

"I will!" I said with a fake smile.

I turned my face on the other side, and started to move away. A lone tear escaped my left eye. How stupid I was. Dosti ko pyaar samajh baithi.
Par aise hi toh samjha tha kuchh bhi, baatein toh uski bhi vahi thi, bass vo nibha nahi saka.
How empty were his promises, his talks. Every fucking thing.
It was hollow.

I somehow managed to compose myself and go home. But the upsetness was clearly visible on my face.

Mahi bhai and Sakshi bhabhi were sitting in living room discussing something.

"Dekho ye aa hi gyi, issi se puchhte hain na pehle." bhabhi said.

"Kya puchhna hai?" I asked.

"Kuchh nahi, tum pehle fresh hoke dinner ke liye aajao, phir hum baat karenge." Mahi bhai said.

"Aur suno, Zi is playing in your room, send her. Uska homework baaki hai.."said bhabhi.

"Okay!"

I went to my room, sent Ziva downstairs, changed and went for dinner.

"Is something bothering Mala?" Mahi bhai asked out of concern.

"Nothing bhaiya..I am just tired." I replied.

"Mala! Me and your bhaiya were thinking upon something..." Sakshi bhabhi said hesitantly.

"Mala, we want to get you married." Mahi bhai said in a go, "Haan koi pressure nahi hai tumhare upar, tumhari choice ko hum consider karenge."

"Bhaiya..." I tried to retaliate.

"Maa Papa chahte hain.." Bhabhi explained.

"Is there someone you like?" Bhai asked.

What will be Mala's response?
