Almost a week later, the lord announces the bounty for a suspicious man. His face is plastered onto flyers and make aware of the person's threat to the people's peace and freedom.
Gwen goes to her brother and father, "Is this the suspicious man's face? And look, his bounty is ten silver coins, or a thousand pennies!"
"Go tell mom."
"Okay!"
Gwen rushes to tell her mother, excited about the reward. She has never hear so much money for a person's life before.
'He's an important man to the kingdom. Perhaps he's too dangerous in our care. You go take a look if he's awake. I'll go discuss with your mother.'
'Alright.'
"Honey!" The mother has come to them with the flyer in hand.
Gin walks pass his mother and takes his sister away, "Let's go. Didn't you want to see his face?"
"I get to see him today?"
"Yeah. Why not? He'll probably be gone by this evening," Gin chuckles and pinches Gwen's cheek.
The siblings walk into the dark room with a candle. The burly man is still lying on the wooden plank without moving. Gwen goes up to him and knits her brows, "He looks old but also young. Handsome but also too rough. And like the picture yet different. I wouldn't want to marry him."
"Why are you always thinking about marriage? You won't get to marry him. He's married."
"Tsk. You're so annoying," Gwen sighs. "Don't you ever think that because you have this innate desire to not get married, I have the opposite?"
Gin rolls his eyes.
"Don't you roll your eyes, Gin. You know I'm right—Ah!"
"Let go if you don't want to die," Gin tugs at the large hand gripping onto Gwen's arm.
The warrior stares into Gin's eyes for a while, trying to make sense of the situation he's in. Then his eyes move onto Gwen stoic glare, even more confused, and lets go of his grip.
"Gwen, go tell mom and dad of he's awake," Gin still hold onto the man's large hand.
Gwen sighs and leaves the room.
"Who are you?" Gin narrows his eyes.
The warrior grasps Gin's fingers and pulls him in. He laughs, "You're interested in me. Is that why you wouldn't let that girl marry me?"
"In your dream!" Gin puts his hand on an injury and pushes himself up.
"Ouch... You're becoming red. If you could see yourself, you'll say I'm right. Tell me, how could I be dreaming?"
"I'm red become it's hot."
"It's the raining season. It's cold."
"It's hot in this room especially."
The burly warrior laughs and coughs, trying to catch his breath. Gin rolls his eyes and begins to walk away.
"Wait. What's your name?"
Gin goes out and closes the door behind him. His sister is by the door the whole time. He doesn't know if she has even gone to see their parents yet.
"You have extremely bad taste," Gwen makes a disgorging motion. "But if you like him... You know he's a criminal of state, right?"
'Don't talk. Sign.'
The family has a small meeting. Although Gwen, Gin, and their father agree to turn the man in for the reward, their mother disagrees. She signs, 'We'll get more from him than the lousy lord... Let's discuss more later. We still have a shop to run. Gin, take some leftover breakfast to him.'
'Mom. Dad. Gin likes likes that guy,' Gwen giggles and hides behind their father.
'I don't!'
'Gin's all red and fuming.'
'Don't tease your brother so much, Gwen... Go take some leftover to him.'
Once Gin returns to the dark room, the wanted man is back to sleeping. He places the food beside the patient and rushes back to work.
A few moments later, his mother goes into the dark room. She sits beside and rubs her belly.
"Open your eyes and talk to me if you don't want to be handed over to your enemy," she sighs. Then she adds, "Don't worry. I only have guesses as to who you are."
"I can see why your children are the way they are," the man opens his eyes lazily. "Just who are you guys? Definitely not some ordinary family running a shop."
She laughs.
"Then are you truly ordinary?" The man sounds unconvinced of his own words.
"We are ordinary. Now tell me why I shouldn't turn you in?"
The man closes his eyes, "Then why don't you? Surely you want something from me that your leaders cannot give you."
She laughs again. "It has been a while since I've spoken to an intelligent person outside of my family. I am quiet lost."
"Now I can only guess that that is a lie." The man reopens his eyes and observes the seemingly pregnant woman sitting beside him. "What if I say I'll murder your family at this moment?"
She laughs a third time. "My family has piqued your interest. You wouldn't dare."
"Well, isn't this conversation useless? Neither yours nor my threats work," he laughs and sits up against the wall facing the pregnant woman before him. "Aren't you scared that your family will be executed if you're to be found hiding a criminal of your state in your home?"
"I'm pregnant too. Of course I am worried, however, I cannot give up this opportunity simply because of my fear."
"What is this opportunity you speak of?"
She rubs her belly, "Revenge. I want to see the Royal family burn on stakes as they did with my people."
"Your people?"
