Chapter 14
I haven't been doing anything online, hindi ko sigurado pero baka iniiwasan ko lang din ang mga interaction doon. Like they wanted to get some updates about my interview about Valerio, but I don't have any update yet and I'm not even sure if I'm going to make it though.
When I'm on beach, ang tumatakbo lamang sa isipin ko kung paano ko malalagpasan iyong training ko and how I can prove to Valerio na kaya kong gawin 'to. I'm not just a girl who can just show up and speak about it, I am here to do the actions and quitting isn't really an option for me.
"Are you thinking about the training or you're just spacing out again?" tanong ni Valerio sa akin.
Umikot ang mata ko sa sinabi niya. "No. You're just being so nosey. I'm busy reading the manual, alright? Give me some time."
"No, you're spacing out." Ngisi pa nito. "I think you should go take a work in the meantime."
Napataas ang kilay ko sa sinabi niya. "No, I'm fine here. I didn't have my sunblock today so... no thanks."
Nanliit ang mata niya sa sinabi niya. He then excused himself and after that, pagbalik niya sa akin ay may inabot siyang sunblock. My mouth was left hanging taking the sunblock from his hand.
While Valerio's busy talking to the other lifeguards over the radio, nagpatuloy lang naman ako sa ginagawa ko. Multitasking.
"Are you done?" he asked.
"Yeah, and you're coming with me."
"What are you doing to me?" he questioned, giving darting looks on me.
I started pouring cream on the palm of my hand and then put it on his skin. Inasar pa ako na ang sunod kong gawin kay Valerio ay tirintasin ang buhok niya, but Valerio eyed on me and told me not to touch his hair. Ever.
"Don't ever think about it, Carseldine," babala pa nito sa akin.
I chuckled. "What? What do you think I was thinking? I wasn't thinking of anything."
The other trainees aren't around, as I've heard from Kuya Emmet, they've been group to four para mas lalong matutukan at makapag-focus sa gagawin nila.
Kapag sinasabi ko naman kay Valerio na baka iyong mga ginagawa ko at ginagawa nila ay hindi match and that I won't pass this training at the end dahil magkaiba ang ginagawa namin. But he just keeps saying that I should trust him and I do so whatever might happen at the end of this training, I'm proud that I did this because, in this lifetime, I never thought I would come into this position... and save lives are somehow fulfilling.
"Do you remember that kid who got missing the other day?" he asked.
We're just walking down the beach and we're not eliminating the chances of accidents that could occur anytime. Kaya dala-dala ni Valerio ang radio in case something happened.
