Sara never really celebrated holidays with her mother, she doesn't remember much of her mother though to be honest. Ever since the tall woman adopted her. Now she celebrates with her new mom.
It's hard for her mom to sit at the table, because of her height, but they make do every year. She always has a full plate at her mom's house, things to be thankful for, and an amazing bed to sleep in when she gets to full from Turkey.
Sometimes they invite over different creatures around the forest, mom always says it's because they are the ones given the job to watch over the forest. Sara just thinks her mom is too nice for her own good.
But now she sits at the table for another Thanksgiving, this year only her mom and her, a full plate in front of her and a brain full of thanks. For her mom, her home, her food, the forest and the being that helped her get here.
Her mom smiles and pats her head, a normal gesture from her on any day, but even then, no matter how many times its done, She'll always be happy when it happens. Because it shows she's loved. And it shows she's home.
