VI. who's the real third wheel?

beomgyu sat infront of taehyun, waiting for yeonjun. it’s awkward to be honest, but taehyun is trying his best to keep beomgyu comfortable which always melts beomgyu’s heart. he’s really kind.

“don’t worry, i bet something came up.” taehyun said.

“oh... i’m not worrying, it’s okay..” beomgyu awkwardly chuckled.

“good thing- we have the same jacket!” taehyun suddenly brought up, which made beomgyu flinch a little.

“oh!... really?” he smiled.

knowing the he brought this after seeing taehyun posting a selca with this jacket. call him weird but no, he saw this while he was wandering around the mall, and the first thing he had in mind is taehyun so he brought it as taehyun being his inspiration.

“yes!! i’ll grab it... later.”

“okay!” beomgyu smiled, taehyun also shared.

30 minutes later..

“hey.....” a familiar voice said.

“finally!” taehyun shouted in relief, facing yeonjun.

“..i’m sorry! did it took long?”

“oh haha! you’re asking that? we called you like 40 minutes ago!! we waited for 30 minutes here, hello?!”

yeonjun sat beside beomgyu while beomgyu laughed at the two when they keep on bickering.

after that, they decided to finally order; beomgyu is way too shy to say what he really likes but taehyun was there to ask him whether he wants it or not, who wouldn’t feel comfortable with him?

“if only you arrived early!” taehyun shouted at yeonjun but not that loud for anyone to hear.

“can you just stop?!” yeonjun asked, feeling all tired of the shoutings.

taehyun rolled his eyes then stopped. beomgyu on the other hand is just enjoying the show. while yeonjun, just wanna die.

“here you go, please enjoy your foods!” the company’s waitress said, giving them their foods.

“ah! thank you so much!!” taehyun said, half bowing.

“thank you!!!!!!” yeonjun also did the same thing.

“ah.. thank you..” beomgyu said quietly, also bowing, way too shy.

the waitress just gave them her sweet smile then left to serve the others.

taehyun giggled. “that was so cute.”

“w-what?! the waitress?!” yeonjun asked.

“no, bitch!!” taehyun slapped yeonjun on his left arm then turned to beomgyu. “i meant the way he’s shy!”

beomgyu looked at yeonjun after hearing his name.

“oh... haha! thank you..” he said, taking a bite from his food.

“it’s cute when you’re shy but i don’t know if you’re cuter when you’re energetic.. i wanna know.”

beomgyu chocked. “i-it’s not..cute..”

“oh really?” yeonjun asked.

beomgyu gulped. what the hell is this situation he is into? but whatever this is, he is loving it.

“aish, yeonjun-hyung! get out of our talk.”

“um? we also have our own talk here.”

“pick, beomgyu-hyung! yeonjun-hyung or me?” taehyun asked, moving closer towards beomgyu.

beomgyu’s eyes widened. “uhm..”

what the hell is he supposed to do? this is an issue to him. why is he even here? is he regretting his life decisions now?

“i-i’m sorry, i ca-can’t!...” he’s HESITATING!!

yeonjun was about to say something but taehyun stopped him. “that’s enough.”

“i’m sorry, beomgyu hyung, we didn’t exactly mean to make you uncomfortable.. we were just playing around, we didn’t mean to do it if ever we did.” taehyun apologized, yeonjun’s eyes also widened after realizing... he’s just so used to flirting he cannot notice.

“oh! no no no no no no no no !! you did not ! haha!! it’s all okay, i just cannot pick with the two of you since i haven’t exactly had good relation with you.. i’m still growing!” beomgyu immediately said after hearing taehyun apologize.

“does this mean we have to compete??” yeonjun sarcastically said then he looked at taehyun.

“that’s frustrating...” taehyun said, taking a bite from his food.

“mmm....i wanna enjoy my moments here....so yes.” beomgyu said.

yeonjun immediately looked at taehyun then laughed like taehyun failed. taehyun’s eyes also widened.

“yes! we are competing! it’s a competition, kang taehyun.”

“i-” taehyun got lost of words. “fine! you want a real battle, huh?” taehyun shouted, then he smirked.

After that, taehyun payed and they left.

“do we have practice today?” taehyun asked yeonjun.

“i’m not sure!! our choreographer annoys me too much.” yeonjun said, checking the time.

“ i know! i have to make sure to clear my schedules everytime! all she could think about is herself and even gets mad at us whenever we are late! can she make her own schedule please?! it confuses us!” taehyun whisper-shouts.

“yea! she’s so good at dancing but look at her, acting all like this just annoys me!!”

“i’m still wondering how she’s not fired?.. our manager even noticed her behavior and ignored it..” taehyun pouted.

“i should report this.”

“i already did hyung!!.... yet it’s still up.”

“y-you.. did? actual kang taehyun?! damn, you’re not a snitch anymore?”

“YAH!” taehyun jokingly slapped yeonjun’s arms. “I wasn’t a snitch!! She just happens to find out EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. don’t blame this on me!! ”

The two were just joking and playing around and talking about stuffs only they could understand since they are that close, they got really busy talking and even forgetting that beomgyu is there.

he just stood there, feeling like he is alone even though he have two idols beside him, he even tried talking but nothing comes out since y'know... this is their topics that doesn’t include him and him to understand as well.

beomgyu hates being left out. all his life, he had always wanted to have every attention around him, but he always learned to keep it all to himself to not ruin anything, and he don’t get jealous or mad. just all to himself. that’s good about him but he just really hates being left out.

but what can he do? he’s just an assistant anyways, there’s no reason for him to say his feelings since it probably won’t be valid.

he just faked his smile, waiting for someone to turn around and include him as well but nah... it stayed like that 'til they arrived at the company. just like that.
