~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fire scorched my arms and legs as Ice burned my body. Wind whipping me with what felt like a hot iron rod. Earth was suffocating me, until I reach the point where I could no longer breathe. Then finally spirit. Spirit was trying to stop me from leaving. Trying to stop me from leaving our world, to try and stop me from escaping. It put mental pressure on my mind that would drive any other person insane in minute, if put under spirits torment.
I had been standing like this for hours and hours, waiting until my body and soul could not take the torments of the physical and mental pain. I knew it was only a matter of time before I close my eyes and never wake up again in this body, hopefully.
"Master, what are you doing?" Shouted a voice I knew so well.
It took a lot of my remaining energy to remove the earth from around my face. Now it was the matter of keeping earth off my face for a while.
When I finally managed to pry away the earth from face, I took in a big gasp of air. I carried on gasping savouring the sweetness of air. You never really know how much you need air unless you have been deprived of it for hours or in human's cases, seconds.
When I found the strength to open my eyes I came face to face with the gods and goddess's of my realm.
Some of the gods and goddess's had the expressions crossed between shock and horror. Others were just horrified of what state they found there master in.
"Don't look at me like that. I know I look terrible, but the last time I checked it wasn't so bad. I have looked worse." "When was the last time you looked at yourself? I can promise you that you look a lot worse." The goddess Anemone asked quietly. Her golden locks tumbling down her shoulder with slight curls at the bottom. She looked at me with big emerald eyes that sparkled with the tears she fought to contain, but was failing miserably. The tears trickled down her tanned cheeks onto her flowing scarlet dress.
"It was a couple of hours ago. But since I have been occupied I haven't had chance to look." I smiled. Well tried too, it hurt just to do anything at the moment.
Thinking about the pain just intensified it. I groaned as the fire got hotter and the ice got colder. Earth increased its strength as it fought against my barrier. Air felt like it was whipping me but it now felt like it was squeezing my lungs. However Spirit the worst. Before, I just felt the mental pressure on my mind but now I felt it seep into my mind and slowly destroy it. I never thought it could get worse, but at my age I should have stopped being surprised at the elements a long time ago.
"I will show you your image through my eyes." The god Zaylor told me coldly. But his eyes betrayed him. His eyes were showing so much sorrow I had to turn my head away.
Then I felt a calming sensation. I felt calmer than I was before, but not enough to ease the torment. Then I saw myself. Even though I had expected to look terrible, the state I was in now was a great shock to me.
My long ebony hair was plastered to my face, clashing with the unnatural colour of my skin. My once milky skin was a deathly white colour. My eyes were once full life and energy, but now they were empty and dead. They were shadowed with black circles under my eyes, but it was only emphasising my natural beauty. Even when I look like death itself, I always managed to look stunning. I hated it.
"Ok, I have seen enough Zaylor!" I said in a hard tone. I didn't want to see myself anymore, all that beauty. I couldn't take it.
"Sorry master." Zaylor said in a steely tone. His copper coloured hair fell past his shoulder as he tilted his head to the right. His hazel boring straight into mine trying to search for the reason why I would myself through this kind of pain.
I was about to say something else when Earth suddenly broke my barrier and wrapped itself around my face tightly cutting off my air supply immediately. I started to struggle, out of instinct, but then I felt drained of all of my energy. It was happening. Only a few more minutes and then all the pain would go away.
Only a few more minutes, I repeated in my head. The pain had intensified so bad I felt like I would rather give up my life willing, just to escape the pain that was being inflicted on my body.
"Master, are you ok?" Not giving me time to answer my next in command, after Leith, Calder one of my most trusted men started giving orders. "Jaeger, Anemone, Zaylor, Mahsa help me try and get the ice under control. The rest of you stand behind your respected master or mistress and add your energy into them." Shouted Calder. "This is an extremely strong force we are dealing with. It is beyond the natural state of our world. It doesn't help the fact that we are only water masters but we have to try and control the other elements with our influence over water."
After a couple minutes I stopped listening. I knew they wouldn't be able to control the elements. I could just barely control them myself and I am one of the most powerful things that was ever known to exist.
In a few moments I would go and join my best and most loyal friend, Leith. He had died a couple of couple of hours ago, so he is probably waiting for me to join him in the rebirth ceremony.
I was expecting it but since I was lost in my thoughts it came as a surprise. I actually felt my heart stop, but I could survive without a heartbeat so that wasn't what bothered me. It was the feeling of being released. I could feel all the spells, which was unwillingly placed upon me, slowly break and shatter. With the shock of that happening I lost my concentration and started to fall to the floor, but I was caught by my element. Ice and water cradled me like a mother would with her baby. I felt my eyes slowly close in the comforting embrace of my element and partner.
I could feel the other elements crackling around me. Waiting for my spirit to pass on, then they could go to their wielders and partners.
I knew this was it now. I closed my eyes and just let the flow of energy take my soul to where my next life would be.
Using my last bit of energy I gave my final command to my follower's. "Don't let him find me." I said in a hoarse voice.
Then I saw realization in their eyes. I saw understanding and I saw them nodding at me. It was if they were urging me to go now they knew the reason I was going.
I knew this was it now. I closed my eyes and just let the flow of energy take my soul to where my next life would be.
Now I could finally run and escape from my prison. I could try and run from my partner, my tormenter, my own personal devil. Abaddōn the god of chaos and torture.
