Two years and a day. It's been exactly two years and a day since I've cried. I'm not even sure why I keep count, but my calendar is full of numbers and crossed out dates.
Of course, being the new girl coming in mid year is not the easiest thing to do. Especially when you moved from America.
It's hard to make friends and find your way around. It's hard to catch up to all the schoolwork. But I manage.
It was my third day at my new school. I was trying to make friends, but none of the girls that I had multiple classes with seemed nice.
'How am I ever going to fit in here?' I thought to myself. It was bad enough that I had an American accent.
"Looking for something?" I heard a voice say behind me. It was that annoying kid Louis.
"I was just getting something from my locker" I replied.
"Cute accent. Hey, don't we have geography together?" he said.
"Ya. And biology. And math." I said back to him.
"Come with me. I want you to meet my friends." he said laughing.
"I don't really wan-"
"C'mon!" he said as he started to drag me across campus. There was something about Louis that I didn't trust, but yet I willingly went with him.
"Hey Zayn!" he yelled to one of his friends.
"Vas' happenin?" Zayn said back.
"This is my new friend...uhhh...help me out here..." Louis said.
"Alyssa. Call me Ally or Lys or whatever you want to I guess." I said to Zayn.
"Cool accent," Zayn said smirking.
"Thanks," I said. "I get that a lot."
"Hahaha," Louis said. "Hey Zayn, have you seen Harry or Liam?"
"Last time I saw them they were with Danni and Hannah." Zayn replied.
Then out of nowhere Louis grabbed my arm and started running back towards our lockers.
"LOUIS!!!" one of his friends shouted at him.
"Finally find a girl that will put up with you?" another guy said. The third guy started laughing so hard he almost fell over.
"Very funny Harry. She's not my girlfriend. But she is my friend. At least I hope she is. Right Al?"
"Mhm. Every guy that I talk to for two minutes becomes my friend!" I said sarcastically.
"She's American," Louis said. Something about the way he said that irritated me.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I said with anger flaring in my voice. "I understand that you are trying to help me meet new people, which is great, but I can handle myself. K?"
"Alright." he said. I instantly regretted what I had just said to him. I could see the way he felt through his eyes, and he definitely wasn't very happy anymore.
All of his friends stared at me in shock.
"Americans are bratts," one of the girls that were with them said.
I walked away. I couldn't help it. I regretted leaving as soon as I wore someone's lunch.
Now I was mad, but at the same time I felt bad. He was only trying to help.
"Hey...Alyssa was it?" I heard a voice say from behind me. I turned around. It was one of the girls that was with Louis's friends.
"Hi. I'm having a pretty bad day, so please try not to make it any worse," I said to her.
"Ok, I'll try not to. I'm Hannah. I know Louis can be a bit irritating sometimes but he's really a sweetheart once you get to know him." she said.
"I bet you're right. Listen, I don't know you that well, or Louis for that matter, but can you tell him that I'm sorry? I didn't mean to say what I did."
Hannah seemed very nice. She seemed like someone that I could trust. She seemed like a food person, and she seemed like she would be a good friend.
"I'll tell him you said that. Catch you around?"
"Ya, definitely!" I told her. "Thank you!"
I walked home feeling glad that I had successfully made one friend. I also felt horrible for making the guy that I was starting to like feel like crap.
