In Denial

A/N: before you all read, i decided to break this up into two parts considering one part shows Michael in denial, and the next, him overcoming his trauma. i just felt it was best to separate the two and to keep from having everything in one page with words over 15k or more. That would be hell to edit.

Also, as you read along, you'll see each session labled as "session 101 or session 102" etc and the reason for that is to show the many times people have tried to help Michael throughout his life. Im sure it was more than a hundred times tho. the man had his ways. But i hope you all enjoy this and give some honest feedback on it.

Happy reading guys 🥰

Intervention

"Michael, we're just trying to help you because we love you. We want the best for you and in doing this will be the best thing for you. Why can't you see that?" Jermaine expressed who sat adjacent to his younger brother in the family room.

All the other Jackson siblings with the exclusion of Tito, Jackie, Rebbie, and Randy filled the entire room as they've too, been trying to get through to the Michael.

"I've already told you guys I am fine. I know you're all doing this out of love, but I don't need any help. There's nothing wrong with me."

Jermaine shook his head at Michael becoming annoyed at his constant denial to the point he stood from the loveseat and made an heated exit out of the family room. "I'm done with this shit." Those were the last couple of words he'd spoken before he disappeared to the other side of the room.

"Michael..." Sighed Marlon. "Just do it. If not for yourself then for your kids, man. This will not only help you emotionally but mentally."

"Yeah, Mike. Marlon is right," chimed in Janet. "Listen, I know this really great therapist you can call. Her name is Dr. Roundtree and her office is located in L.A. She's rated and awarded number one in the city for her expertise and she has helped me over the years I've gone to visit her. Without her guidance, I would not be where I am today. She's really amazing and you should give her a try..."

Michael stared between Marlon and Janet who were staring right back at him, waiting for a response. He had taken heed to Janet's suggestion and was giving it a thorough thought. For the past hour, his family had been trying to persuade him to consider therapy given all that has transpired in his life nearly a decade. They've noticed the changes in him and it was a change leading to self destruction.

Now that he has two children to raise and believing that they will heal and take away all his problems he's dealt with for a while, he'd soon realized that that was impossible. They kept him sane and brought him joy but not curative enough to rid away of those inner demons that just wouldn't unattach themselves from him only because he would not allow them to be.

Maybe it was about time he'd done so.

He was taking her offer into consideration; however, he still doesn't believe he has a problem but if going to therapy for however many times a week will get his family off his back, then so be it. He'd do anything to get them to leave him alone.

Exahling a deep sigh, Michael says quietly but loud enough for them both to hear, "okay."

Marlon and Janet furrowed their eyebrows at him as Janet confusingly asked, "okay what?"
