Robo Hand's POV
The door opens up, and I walk past all the machines. with the assassin following close behind me. I reach over to the nervous man working on the machine. "Weapon system online." A voice from the technology says. "Agent database required for targeting." The man sighs in relief and turns to me. "It's done! The entire facility is running at full capacity."
I walk past the man and to the windows, which open up. "Everything is exactly how you wanted it. But please, the destruction this is capable of..." He trails off. I sigh and finally speak. "Since when does your agency care about the many, many, many lives it destroys?" I ask and activate the assassin. The machine grabs the man and drags him out of the window. The man screams and tries to get back to the floor.
"You said if I helped you, you'd let me go!" The man pleads. "Oh yeah. I did, didn't I?" I ask. I then do as I promised, having the assassin let him go. "I hear Venice is wonderful this time of year," I comment and walk away.
Y/ns POV
I focus my eye on the drinks I'm making while also having an ear open to Lance's egotistic run. "Aw yeah, just wait until I get to Venice. I'mma tear that fools his cloaca." I roll my eyes and hand lance his drink. "Thanks, Princess." I nod and hand Walter some water while I sip my own and sit down. I look to see the boy fawning over the next episode, and I feel myself being pulled in. "WALTER!" Lance screams, pulling the two of us out of it. "You're still working on that antidote, right?" Lance asks and waddles at us.
"Working on it? In a couple of minutes, it's done." Walter says proudly. The two then start going into a conversation, but I become occupied with giving Lovey attention. "You are just so beautiful." I coo while the female nuzzles herself on me. I then notice the skinny pigeon still having trouble taking the sucker off his head. "Aw, c'mere, you," I say and gently pick up the bird. "Vegetable oil and towel, please," I command. The boat's tech arm hands me the items. I pour a bit of the oil on the rag and carefully dab around the sticky mess.
I wiggle the food loose and it finally comes off, with no feathers coming off. I then place the bird on the awaiting tech arms. "Activate avian bathing. And be gentle." I command. "Avian bathing in progress."
(If you're asking why I'm doing this... I wanted to, that's why.)
I hear a beeping sound and look over to see Walter's backpack saying the process is complete. I watch as the antidote produces a chemical that will light the cells on fire. Lovey flies back to my lap as I watch Walter claim that he believes we can stop the bad together. A smile forms on my lips but goes away after Lance talks again. "I know you do, man. But it's a fantasy. When the bad guys hit you, you hit them back." He says slowly and sadly. "You hit them so hard, that they don't get back up. You gotta fight fire with fire."
When Walter speaks again, his voice is quivering. "When we fight fire with fire, we all get burned. There are no good guys or bad guys. Just people. And people are worth saving. Isn't that our job?" Lance stares at Walter before he looks over at me, I have my head hanging low and my face showing that I'm trying not to cry. Lance's face hardens and he looks back to Walter. "Evil doesn't care that you're nice. I watch good people be taken every day. I'm scared that one day; someone will find my sister and kill her because of me. "But you wouldn't know about that." He finishes and walks away.
Walter perks up at the mention of me and looks back to see me walking away. "You'd be surprised." I hear him mutter before the door behind me closes.
It gets dark, and we finally reach our destination. Lance drives us to shore in our mini boat while Walter and I take in the sights. "First time in Venice?" Lance asks Walter. "First time anywhere. It's always been my dream to come here and feed the pigeons." Walter says. I sigh and look over the horizon of water. "This place does have a romantic atmosphere." I quip. Lance hums in agreement, but Walter stays silent.
We soon reach the data vault and get ready. I put on my helmet and turn on the screen. "Something isn't right," I mutter. "What is it?" Lance asks. "The standard security isn't here," I inform the boys. Lance sees what I mean and walks out of the boat.
Dozens of guns aimed at us, making us raise our arms. "Long way from home Walter." The same female agent from before says and walks towards us. She then looks over at me. "Nice to finally meet you, Miss Sterling. Would you please remove the helmet?" Surprised, I follow orders and reveal my face. A girl with large glasses then aw at the sight of me. "Man, Lance Sterling has a cute sister. Sorry! I meant to say you're really pretty, not in a creepy way, just in general." A guy with earphones says. I don't say anything, and the female agent continues.
"Kimura talked. I know your brother is in Venice. Where is he?" She asks. I try my best to not glance at my brother to not give anything away. "Look, I know the two of you aren't criminals." The female says as she has the other agents lower their guns.
"You two are bright kids. Walter, you're inventing stuff no one has ever thought of, I know because my boot is stuck in one of them." She says as she approaches us. "Sorry." Walter winces. "No, no. We're the ones that owe you an apology. You're trying to keep the world safe, just like your mother did." My eyes widen slightly.
The agent then turns to me. "And you make the most amazing blueprints for the agency to use, Miss Sterling." My fingers curl and my face scrunches a little. Walter notices and observes my behavior further. "Even as you were kept a secret, you came up with plans that resulted in no one getting hurt. You are kind and considerate, you're a great spy like your brother, you're just not working for the right people. Your parents would be extremely proud of you." My arms lower as thoughts swarm my head.
"I can get you both your jobs, a lab for you to work on together as the director wanted, all the things you ever needed and wanted. Show them what you can do. But I need you to show us where Lance is." She then looks me in the eyes. "He would do anything for you. You just need to call him, please." She begs.
"Her name is y/n," Walter speaks up. The agent and I look at Walter, who's slightly glaring. "The only reason you're offering her this opportunity is that she's Lance Sterling's sister. Do you think all these accomplishments she's made are to help Lance? She did those things by herself." Walter tells the agent.
The building behind the agents blows up and all of them run in. Lance leads us to the building but then leads us to follow the assassin. I look back at the agent and yell, "There's someone else behind this. He's been using a physical hologram to look like Lance, don't you see?! We have that kind of technology!" I then make it up to the roof to see Walter throw Lance. "Did you just throw my brother off a roof?!" I ask, incredulous. "He'll figure it out," Walter assures me and leads me down to the ground.
Walter and I see Lance being held by the flock and following the assassin. "This is official business!" Walter yells and pulls me onto a Vespa behind him. I wrap my arms tightly around his torso. Walter loses control and the Vespa almost drives off. I get off and stop it. "I'm driving! I say and Walter gets behind me. I scan the guy's face and use the info to send enough money to buy a better Vespa to his account.
I zoom away and follow Lance. "I know this is a bad time, but I'm sorry I went out of line!" Walter yells. "Are you kidding me?! If we weren't trying to save the agency right now, I would kiss you!" I shout back while maneuvering over the maze of streets. "What?! Really?!' He asks, his voice going higher. "You're the only person beside Lance who sees me as me and not the greatest spy's sister! Everyone who ever knows who I have always treated me with respect because of who I'm related to! Ever since we met, you've been talking to me like an actual person and not like someone delicate. I thought that when I entered the agency, that was all I was going to be treated like. Thank you, Walter." I tell the boy.
I look up and see the data falling. "Walter, I need you to catch that!" I inform him. Walter holds out his hand and successfully catches the falling object. I whoop in excitement and the boys start screaming in amazement. I see the boat and make my way towards it. That is until I feel something hit my face hard.
My vision begins to blur, but I'm able to make out a man walking toward me. I hear a voice call out my name. I turn my head and see Walter crawling to me, Lance nowhere in sight. The man kneels to me and moves hair out of my face. "Hello, y/n." He greets me softly before he summons an assassin to hold me up. "So sorry for the hurtful introduction, I promise you won't have to go through that. Until it's time." He says as he circles around me. My breath heaves, and I feel something warm run out of my nose quickly.
My vision fades in and out until I feel the grip on me drop and a pair of arms on me. "You're gonna be fine, y/n. Hang on." I hear someone say before darkness consumes my vision.
