As a kid,
I always watched shows like Team Umi Zoomi and Glee,
As a kid,
I always played games like Scramble and Monopoly,
As a kid,
I listened to artists like Ariana Grande and Katy Perry,
As a kid,
I always felt excited and happy,
I miss those days,
Where the pain was so easy,
To take away,
Where the only pain we could feel,
Was physical,
We didn't know mental pain,
We didn't know emotional pain,
We could just be kids,
As a kid,
I learned about colors like red, yellow, and blue,
As a kid,
I would learn about numbers like one and two,
As a kid,
I would sing the alphabet and watch YouTube,
As a kid,
We could socialize and be true,
I miss those days,
Where we didn't have to powder ourselves with makeup,
Just to get boys to look our ways,
We could wear mix-match colors,
And not worry about lovers,
We could love each other,
We could care for each other,
We could just be kids,
As a kid,
I enjoyed books like Captain Underpants and Percy Jackson
As a kid,
I enjoyed Broadway shows like Newsies and Hamilton,
As a kid,
I enjoyed sports like swim and badminton,
As a kid,
I had celebrity crushes like Cory Monteith and Sofia Carson,
Can we please go back,
To those days,
where the pain was so easy,
To take away,
Can we please go back,
To those days,
Where we didn't powder ourselves with makeup,
Just to get boys to look our ways,
Can we please go back,
To a place,
Where we could feel only physical pain,
Where we could only love each other,
Can we please go back to that space,
Where nothing felt out of place,

To that old time,
We all know,

like the words cat and bat,
