The new bakery is fabulous. The store front is beautifully decorated with flowers and a nice big colourful sign. Cedric and the other workers were very welcoming and nice. They gave me a full tour and I was also allowed to bake a few cokies.
Before I leave, I take the cookies out of the oven and put them in a bag.
"Thank you for inviting me into your bakery mam. It's amazing, and I wish you a lot of success." I tell the bakery manager who has just walked in.
She is a plump lady with short brown hair that is tucked away in a small bun at the back of her head. She wears a long dark dress that comes down to her ankles. On top she has a dirty white apron, that of course all bakers must were. The sleeves on her dress are rolled up to her elbows giving her a look that I very much appreciate. She looks like she is a hard worker.
"Oh please." She says "call me Sally, if you want to get a job here, you better know the managers name, right?"
"What? Are you offering me a job?" I ask excitedly.
"If you want it." She looks at me with a smirk on her face. She exists the room before I can accept. I run after her in desperation.
"I'll take it! I'll take the job!" I yell after her. She turns around briskly and looks at me with approval.
"Okay then, what are you waiting for? Get an apron on and get to work!" She says yells before she turns back around and heads out the door to the front of the bakery.
For the next hour I'm in and out of the backers area. I help customers in the front and help the other employees in the back. I love it. I feel accomplished, More so than when I was in the Capitol.
Now naturally when I hear the bell ring in the front, I hurry out the door to help the costumer.
"Hello! How can I help you?" I say as I'm entering the room. I don't look at the costumer until I get to the cash register, but the sight that follows startles me so much I feel myself jump out of my skin.
It's Katniss. Casually looking, trying to pick the freshest loaf of bread.
I gasp and hold my breath.
