You managed to get to the edge of the city within about 30 minutes, it wasn't that far away, as you were already near the outskirts, to begin with. You reached a multi-level car park that was completely void of people and only had a few vehicles in it, one of which you quickly unlocked, handing Loki something to change into. You yourself immediately pulled off the Shield gear you had on, it was the classic dark blue tactical pants, a black tank top and a jacket with the Shield logo on the back. You struggled a bit though with your injured shoulder but managed, putting on a pair of ripped dark grey-blue skinny jeans, a dark grey fitted cropped tank top, a men's green flannel button-up, a leather jacket with a built-in grey hoodie, black combat boots, plus a beanie and other punk-ish accessories. You didn't have a lot of magic juice left to draw from so you only changed the appearance of your hair and eyes to look more normal, resembling how you once looked, so many years ago.

Loki helped you with your jacket, and you thanked him, as you hopped into the driver's seat, instructing him to get in as well, with him quickly taking the seat next to you. It was a grey SUV, and you told Loki you had all of your Tomes and some clothes for the both of them, along with some money and other stuff all packed in the back, so they should be good to just drive for a while without making any major pit stops. As Loki got in, he changed forms as well, looking like a young Christopher Lee, but with his own long messy black hair, you watched Dracula together and he loved that character. As for the outfit, Loki wasn't about to completely strip in a car park, even when on the run, opting instead to only change the top half of his outfit; putting on the v-neck grey undershirt, olive green plaid button-up, black leather jacket, and a beanie. Loki commented on how they were dressed pretty much the same and you admitted that you didn't have a lot of time so you ended up grabbing a lot of the same stuff just in different sizes.

You took a couple of less-known roads before hitting the main highway, the ones you were certain Shield wouldn't be monitoring, not that it mattered too much, as you knew the car wouldn't be reported as stolen nor would an organization like them be looking into one. You had been driving for a while, putting on the cruise-control feature and relaxing a little, taking Loki's hand with the one you weren't steering with, squeezing it gently. You kept your eyes on the road but started up a conversation, first saying there was a small town about 20 minutes from where they were and they could stop and get something to eat. Loki said that was fine as he was rather hungry but wasn't going to say anything unless you brought it up as he knew getting away was their first priority. There was silence between the two of you for a little while when you broke it by apologizing for not getting to him in time before he left the Hellicarrier. "If I had known you were near the engine I would have..." Loki began but his voice trailed off, thinking about what happened, what he nearly did, what he thought he did. You told him not to worry about it, as the explosion led to your escape and an easy way to stay under the radar, as they wouldn't be looking for you if they believed you were dead. Besides the injury to your shoulder and the blood loss you were fine, you were just thankful when the shrapnel did hit it damaged the collar around your neck so you could use your powers again.

You soon reached the small town, pulling into a parking lot with a few restaurants asking Loki if he wanted to go in and sit down to eat or if he wanted you to just run in and order something to go. Loki wasn't about to let you go anywhere by yourself for a long time, opting to go in with you to order something to take with them, and you smiled asking which restaurant he wanted to eat from. You hopped out with Loki quickly making his way over while you opened up the trunk, grabbing out a backpack full of money, taking out a few bills to pay for dinner and to pick up the last few things you needed. Loki held your hand the entire time and you couldn't help but smile although you thought it was weird how happy you were to just be eating and shopping with him.

Within a few hours, you reached the border and Loki finally asked you where they were going and you informed him they would be going back to your home country as you weren't actually an American. You didn't know what Shield did to make it legal for you to stay in the U.S. for the last couple of years but you got all new I.D. when you were with them. You figured you guys would be safer outside of America, besides, Canada was in the top 10 for the world's safest countries and it wasn't too far away making it one of the better options. Although they would be stopping at a bed and breakfast that was nearby for the night before driving across the rest of Canada until they reached Alberta, their final destination. You told Loki it would take a few days of driving actually, seeing as you didn't have proper I.D. yet this would be the safest way to get where they were going while staying under the radar.
