After a couple minutes staring into space, Denis breathed "W...what?" He had panic in his eyes and tear drops running down his face.

"Hey bud, I know it's bad, but see, I'm here! Just look at me and everything will be okay!" whispered Marcus into his ear, holding onto him tight.

Denis suffers from panic attacks, and we help him through everything. Ever since he joined our school in 2nd grade, he always had these. Marcus is his bestest and truest friend he could have. When Denis thinks that he is going to have a panic attack, he always clings onto him really tight. That is his way of calming himself down.

When Denis finally calmed, I decided to speak up.

"Wait! Do you know what that thing was? That was a rhetorical question. It is a zombie!" I yelled.

"Shh! Be quiet! Didn't they say to be silent? Only talk in a whisper." murmured Hari, who always loved everything to be silent.

"Wow Mr BFG. Calm your jets." Alyssa said, who always loved the absolute opposite,"We can't just stick to the rules and be cowards, can we? Who cares about the rules! We are rule breakers!"

"Mrs Motivational over here." Zara laughed in a sarcastic tone.

"Hey!" shouted back Alyssa.

Their arguing went on and on. At one point I think Denis fell asleep.

I checked the time. It was very late. 12:17 to be exact.
"Hey guys! Do you know that we've been in this one room for hours on end?" I yelled, just managing to make myself be heard.

The room fell suddenly silent.

"Don't any of you have any sense of time?" The tone in my voice let my friends know that I was not in the mood right now.

"Errrrrrm no?" Marcus said, trying to sound as sensible as he could.

I slapped my hand on my forehead, clearly annoyed.

I looked over to Denis. He was fast asleep with Marcus, on one of the many colourful beanbags I had strewn across my untidy bedroom floor.

Then, something ear-piecing broke the silence. It was the sound of glass shattering and wood splitting in half. We all knew that our end was just outside my bedroom door. We all braced ourselves for death.
