melody mcanderson
found. my sanctuary was discovered. the police knocked on my door aggressively asking if i was minnie mcanderson. apparently, someone heard michael's and my conversation on whom i was. i lied to them and told them no. after they left, i ran into my room and screamed. i don't care who heard, i wanted to be alone. "melody, answer your fucking door!" michael yelled.
"get the fuck away from me!" i replied. michael didn't hesitate before opening my door.
"are you okay? that's all i care about right now," i started sobbing into his chest. "mel, what happened out there?"
"we need to leave this place," i started shaking.
"melody, tell me what happened out there," michael calmly said.
"the police found me."
"pack your things. we're going somewhere else," michael let go of me and started gathering my things together. "we're leaving now."
i suddenly remembered that he had a family to live with. "michael, you have a family! go live with them, don't let me hold you back!" i told him.
"you might not think this, but we're the same. i can't go back there!" he replied.
"we're not the same, you don't know what i've been through," i swore under my breath.
"i'll meet you outside of your door in ten minutes. we're driving to california," michael left. i packed up my belongings and knocked on his door. "ready to go?"
"we have to leave discreetly," i hushed him. "the police are still near." he hurried me into his rundown car and started driving away from the cheap run down motel
"we'll be there in about two days," michael said.
"you better fucking step on the pedal when we drive to california. they cannot find me! i can't go back there. take me further than california; takeme somewhere that nobody would find me; no where near vermont. take me to the end of the world, take me to the edge of land," i hid behind michael and cried.
"i don't have enough to fly all the way to somewhere. and if we do, we need money for living," he said.
"who cares we'll find our way! let's go, now!" i screamed.
