Death and a Girl
Your arms wrapped around my waist like a boa.
We danced and laughed waiting for the cars to come,
Lying on streets like Allie and Noah.
The cold whipped our faces and we grew numb.
I asked you if I would ever be fine
You thought I was insane and frustrating
Instead You brushed your cold lips against mine.
And My God You were intoxicating
You asked if I would like to go and “rest”
I gazed at You and let out a weak breath
Lights grew close, and You deserved the best
So I said, “Not today but I am glad to have made such a good friend in You, Death.”
Freaking out, Blacking out, but feeling sane
Waking up to excruciating pain

Death and a Girl
PoesíaThis was a sonnet created for my English Lit class. It deals with a girl and death personifying her suicidal thoughts.
