One Week Later

Uraraka

Even though I had my control back, I had another emotion eating at me for the past few days. Guilt. I felt bad for how I treated Bakugo during the... branding. I never wanted to treat anyone like that, I want to help people. I wanted to make amends. So, I passed him a note in class to meet me in my room that night. I was going to apologize with treats!

I was watching TV when he knocked on my door. I opened it with a smile, "Hey, thanks for coming!"

"Whatever. Here's your blanket back." He handed me the blanket I threw on him last week.

"Oh, yeah! I completely forgot about this!" I laughed, stepping aside, and letting him in. "You can sit down if you want."

He looked around my room with his hands in his pockets. "Where?"

"Um," I pointed, "You can take the floor chair. I'll just sit on the floor."

"I'll stand. What do you want?" He rolled his eyes. Back to the good, old Bakugo.

"Please sit down?" I asked.

He sighed through his nose and took a seat in the floor chair. I smiled and sat next to him, pulling a box of treats out from under the coffee table and scooching it in front of him.

He raised an eyebrow. "The hell is this?"

"It's for you!" I smiled.

He just glared.

"Look," I sighed. "I started thinking about last week and realized I was cruel."

"I don't want your apologies, round face." He said, about to get up, but I put a hand on his arm to stop him.

I continued, "I said a lot of hurtful things to you. I need you to know that I never wanted to act like that towards you, or anyone."

He rolled his eyes. "If it was true, then stand by it. Don't go back on your words like a weakling."

"Not all of it was true!" I said, feeling the guilt in my stomach.

He raised an eyebrow. "Which parts?"

I sighed. "Well, for starters, you're not the worst person ever. And I wouldn't pick Mineta over you."

He smirked proudly, "I knew that was a fucking lie!"

"Yeah, yeah. Anyway, most of the lies were towards myself. I wrote on my wrist that you reckless, arrogant, and selfish to help me keep my head on straight. But I know you're not any of those things. Well, you might still be all of those things, but you have the right reasons. Your recklessness is just showing how strong willed and challenging you are, like you're testing to see how strong everyone is because you're trying to best yourself as well as everyone else to become the number one hero.

Your arrogance can be a pain, but that's just because you want to show everyone how hard you've worked and how hard you're willing to work to become the best. You refuse to take the easy route and I respect you for that, look up to you even. You have a lot on honor in earning what you work for.

And selfish? You're not selfish at all. Everyone thinks you are, but I know for a fact if you were truly selfish, you won't be in the hero course. You may not have a caring personality, but that doesn't mean you don't care! You care a lot! You just don't want to baby anyone."

He looked shocked, not ready for all of that. "What the hell are you talking about??"

I smiled, "I'm saying I admire you, Bakugo!" My smile turned into a frown. "And I'm sorry for using other people's opinions of you to try to control my emotions. I know who you are enough to see you're not as bad as everyone says. I promise to never to do it again. Will you forgive me?"

He was looking away, his cheeks coloring red. A hand hovered over the coffee table and opened the treat box, revealing cookies and chocolates. He grabbed a cookie and took a bite. "Back to your own self."

"Me?" I laughed nervously, rubbing the back of my neck. "Yeah! I was acting really off, wasn't I! I felt so frustrated all the time, I was really coming off as a bi—um. Really mean!"

"Jeez, just say it, round face." He glanced at me.

I blinked, a little uncomfortable to be swearing while in a good mood. "A... a bitch."

He chuckled.

"What?" I asked.

"You cussing," he said. "It's... cute."

I blushed, of course. "Really? Well, you're cute when you blush!"

"I'm not blushing!" he snapped.

"Yes, you are!" I laughed, poking his cheek. "As red as a tomato!"

"Knock it off," He threatened.

I pulled my hand back and watched him take another cookie. "Do you like them?"

He swallowed his bite and stood up. "I'm gonna get going."

I grabbed the box and stopped him as he opened the door. "Take them with you! They're for you."

He hesitated before taking the box out of my hands, brushing his fingers against mine during the exchange.

"And you can call me Ochako." I said, a little nervous. "By the way..."

He just looked at me.

"Or Uraraka! Whatever is fine!" I laughed nervously.

He blinked, softening his eyes. I liked them like this; calm crimson instead of raging red. "See ya."

I closed my door behind him. That went better than expected, and I feel so much better!
