I awake startled. I check the time. "Only 6:58? I've could've sworn that I'd been sleep longer than that." I get out of bed drenched in sweat. I go take a shower. The hot water hits my body and relaxes me. I get out and put on my clothes. Someone knocks on my door. "Sweetie? Are you still asleep?" It's mom. "No ma'am!" I shout from the bathroom. "Well hurry up, we have to go to a dinner party at 7:30." She says. I finish my shower and meet her in the kitchen. "Actually mom if you don't mind,  I have plans with my friends tonight." I say, hoping she'll let me go. "Dear, you know how important this is to me." She says. "But mom-..." "No buts, you're going and that's final." She walks away. I shake my forehead. " Oh no, how am I supposed to go to the beach with my friends at 8 now?". I come back to my room and lay down.

I stare in my room at the ceiling. Can't sleep. Upset. "Why can't I just go out with my friends?" Suddenly an idea pops in my head. "Why can't I just fake sick through 7:00 and when she comes I tell her that I don't feel good." I turn over and smile menacingly as the rest of my plan continues to brew in my head. 30 minutes later. "Honey! Honey are you ready?" She comes around to my door. "Honey, your dad's waiting in the car." I moan in pain. My dad left a long time ago.. "Mom, I don't feel so good, can I just stay home?" I sound desperate and my voice is raspy. "Honey...you sure you can stay home by yourself?"
