If i write a one-shot based on the picture I included in this chapter who would read it?
-IshipPhalentino-"Mmm, Jack, don't leave." I mumbled, tugging him back by his hand.
"Babe, I have to go work my shift at the hospital." Jack laughed as he pulled his arm back.
"No." I said as I rolled over and wrapped both my arms around his waist.
"Fine. Ten more minutes and that's it."
I smiled and rolled over. The warmth of Jack's arms and chest surrounded my back and waist as he cuddled his head into my neck.
When I was about to dose off, I felt a few kisses get plastered against my neck and on my lips.
I kissed back before he had a chance to pull away and rolled over to my side of the bed. Jack ruffled my hair and began to get dressed.
Jack has been so nice to me the past few weeks and I feel like I should do something special. Maybe that new stethoscope he wanted? Or perhaps a fancy dinner?
Yeah, the dinner.
"Hey, love, pick up a bottle of wine on the way home. I have a surprise for you." I said as I sat up.
Jack smiled and pulled his shirt over his Jack Skellington tattoo. Making his way over to the bed, he lightly took ahold of my chin and squinted his eyes.
"What're you planning?"
"Something." I squinted back.
Jack kissed my lips and grabbed his bag with his doctor's stuff in it before heading out the door.
"Be back at about six, alright?"
I nodded and rolled over in the blankets.
While Jack was on his way to work, I was laying in bed and pondering what to make for the special dinner.
Well, Jack likes chicken tacos, but that isn't too fancy. He likes any form of pasta, and steak too, so maybe I'll try one of those.
Deciding to get out of bed, I quickly made it and put on some pants and a shirt; Jack's shirt to be precise.
You know, I really feel like we're working out. I use to feel like I was drowning in a bottomless pit of not only self-hatred but Jack's hatred. I know realize that I'm rising from it all and becoming a better person.
For one, I have a more open mind. It's always good to open your mind before your mouth. Having an open mind isn't only being open to different ideas, but to be willing to try them as well.
Checking the food supply, I saw we had two steaks, a couple potatoes, some green beans, crescent rolls, and a box of noodles.
I set the steaks out on the counter top to thaw out, and then vacillated my options: I could make noodles for a side instead of green beans, but how will that taste?
After a few minutes of hard thinking and a lot of nodding, I decided on the noodles. They'll make Jack happy I was able to throw a few of his favourite dishes together.
Smiling, I set the box of pasta noodles on the counter next to the steaks, got the potatoes out, and got a few seasonings.
While getting out a few pots for the noodles and potatoes, I checked for a couple candles as well as some fancier plates.
I gave up on the plates and just went with the candles instead. But I did find a pretty, lace table cloth to set over the wooden table.
The white of the lace complimented the brown of the oak wood table nicely so I left it where I placed it and began on the dinner.
