Mono was very against the idea, sure you can make the argument that he was just paranoid

But could you blame him? The other boy was to...nice for his own good, especially in a world like this, apparently he came from a place called the maw, a ship where kids where raised as cattle and where fed to the guests

He escaped, barely

He said he had the help of gnomes? Those little white triangle things that ran away from anything that made sound, So Mono was very skeptical to believe his story

Mono frowned as he watched Seven begin to climb out of there little hideout deep in the city, Seven could practically feel the eyes on him as he turned, he couldn't help but chuckle at the others frown "i'll be fine" he said a soft reassuring smile on his face

Mono just sighed as his eyes landed on his leg that was wrapped in ripped pieces of the clothes they had found around the city, this wouldn't have happened if he was just careful and noticed the cracking wood beneath him before it was too late...

"Hey, don't worry" Seven said, his voice cutting through Mono's thoughts

"I'll be back before you know it" he said giving Mono a small wave before he turned and squeezed out of the the crack that led onto the streets

Mono sighed watching Seven slowly slip out of his vision, he's just going get them some food, thats all, it shouldn't be to long until Mono's leg is healed enough where he could walk again and they could try finding there way out of his hell hole

Mono adjusted his position on the mattress, might as well get comfortable...

-

Seven silently slipped through the streets, his eyes scanning over the different shops

He flinched when he heard something shuffle behind him, he turned fully prepared to run away at the sight of one of those creatures that had there faces melted off, instead however, he caught sight of a familiar creature

He sighed in relief, the heavy beating of his heart slowing down as he slowly walked over, it inched away, not that he was surprised

But he paused, a small thought appearing in his mind

In the maw he couldn't speak, not only did he have to pretend to be weak and complacent but any noise he made could attract the janitor, or anyone to him, but it was different here, he wasn't trapped in halls that stretched for eternity, the ground beneath him wasn't swaying with the waves

He was free, or atleast, not confined anymore...

Seven hummed as he kneeled down keeping his arms out "hey little guy" he said, his voice soft as he inched closer, instead of running the gnome sat still shivering, Seven frowned, it was really cold

And from what he saw in the maw....

Seven reached out carefully scooping the gnome in his arms "its okay, i have you" he whispered softy holding the gnome tightly, a calming presence filled the small alley, it was almost like nothing could hurt at the moment

That they where safe...

Seven smiled as he carefully put the gnome down "there you go" he said smiling at the gnome as it chattered softly "do you know where i can find food?" he asked, the gnome looked around for abit before it nodded

It grabbed Seven's sleeve as he led him out of the dirty alley, whether or not Seven stumbled abit at the sudden action was information for only him to know

Seven turned only slightly caught off guard by te sight of more gnomes following behind "are they your friends?" he asked the one that was leading him, the gnome nodded as they continued walking

They stopped after awhile causing Seven to look up

A diner.

-

Mono awoke with a jolt, his senses flaring up at the sound of multiple things shuffling outside, he moved his leg to stand up only to hiss softly at the pain that shot through his body, he looked around frantically

There was a crowbar at the other side of the room, if he could ju-

"There, be careful" a voice said from outside, Mono felt himself relax as he let out a breath he didn't even know he had been holding, he sat back down watching Seven enter there little safe spot

Seven grinned "hey Mono" he said as he climbed down the ladder

Mono smiled, but his eyes soon caught sight of the gnomes that where peaking through the entrance, he let out a small surprised sound as he turned to Seven who was puting the stale bread he found in there shared bags already eating a small piece

Seven turned, his gaze following Mono's to the entrance

"Oh yeah, they helped me find food for us" he said handing Mono some bread "can they stay here?" Seven asked, it sounded less like a question and more like a statement

Mono's eyes darted between the entrance and Seven, after awhile he sighed "alright, just make sure they don't touch my leg" Mono said, Seven grinned as he looked up giving a small nod to the creatures right by the entrance

Mono watched as they flooded in, climbing down the ladder and making there home by the pile of clothes, Seven sat beside Mono on the mattress as a seemingly endless amount of them made there home in there little safe space

Mono watched as they stayed particularly close to Seven, but kept there difference with him

That was new

He ate the bread watching as one of the gnomes that inched abit closer to him, he paused mid bite when seven pulled the gnome into a hug, the thing practically melted into the hug, a calming and safe aura immediately filling there hideout

That was definitely new

When Seven let go of the gnome letting it shuffle over to its friends he turned to Mono seemingly sensing the confused look he gave him, Seven raised a brow "what-" "how did you do that?" Mono asked cutting Seven off

The boy looked more confused "what was what?" he asked never taking his eyes off the other "that thing you just did" Mono said, Seven lit up "the hug?" he asked, Mono nodded

"It's just a thing a saw in a book" Seven said simply, Mono still was confused, he knew what a hug was, but hugs shouldn't be able to do that, its shouldn't make everyone in the area feel safe, secure, comfortable, that wasn't supposed to happen

Apparently Sev didn't know that

"Do you want me to give you a hug?" Seven asked after awhile holding his arms out

Mono hesitated before he awkwardly held his arms out, Seven scooted closer as he pulled the other into a soft hug, the effects where almost immediate

It came like a sudden flash of lightning that Mono almost pulled away...

The soft chirping of birds, the safety of a home he never had, a soft comforting melody sung by a mom that should have been there,

the warmth of the blue boy who's actions promised nothing but security, the endless love that radiated from him, love that he shared with anyone who was willing to receive it...

Mono couldn't help but melt into the touch.
