Luke was going to die.

I gasped as I came up for air, my teeth instantly started chattering.

“And you think I was going to like you after this?” I mumbled.

"I can’t beli-“

He came up in front of me and put his finger on my lips.

“Don’t say anything, just let me talk,” he said softly.

“I didn’t kiss that…girl, Alice. She was coming up for a signature and then she asked to kiss me on her cheek, and when I did, she turned her head to the side so I kissed her.”

He made a face, making me giggle softly.

“Never in a million years would I choose her over you, you know that,” he whispered.

I looked him full in the face, his eyes were telling the truth.

“I believe you,” I whispered back.

“I’m sorry for just running off and not listening, I wasn’t thinking straight.”

He smiled and started leaning in, slowly closing his beautiful brown eyes.

My fast breath made small puffs of air float up into the grey sky.

“Ummm Luke?”

“Yeah?” he said quickly, opening his eyes wide.

“Do you mind if we could dry off first, I swear I’m going to turn into an ice cube any second,” I grinned, my teeth chattering like crazy.

He chuckled softly.

“Yes, babe,” he said, grabbing my hand.

I shivered even more at the word ‘babe’ coming out of his mouth. I honestly thought I would melt.

We hopped out of the pool and ran to the doorstep, my wet clothes clinging to me, freezing water droplets ran down my back.

“I’m still going to get you for this,” I giggled.

“You can’t do anything if we freeze to death,” he joked.

“BEAU, RACHEL, WERE DYING OUT HERE!” I yelled, pounding on the screen door.

Beau opened the door, smiling.

“So you two made up, I’m guessing?” I could see the hint of a smile on his mouth.

“You planned this didn’t you?” I raised my eyebrows and crossed my arms, looking between the two boys.

“Of course not,” Luke looked innocently at me.

I punched him lightly in the arm.

“Stupid head,” I giggled softly.

“Owch,” he whined.

“Don’t be such a girl Luke,” Beau laughed.

We stood there for a minute or two.

“WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE, GO GRAB US SOME TOWELS WERE FREEZING TO DEATH!” I shrieked at him.

“Coming right up,” Rachel appeared at the doorway and handed me a pink towel.

“Well, at least someone’s nice,” I said in Beau’s face, stepping through the doorway.

“I’ll be back, I’m going to take a shower,” I gave the small group a grin, my eyes lingering on Luke before grabbing my stuff and running down the hall into the white-tiled bathroom.
