The Hudgens mansion sat on a vast expanse of land. It was located outside the city and was one of the most expensive estates.

From afar, it did not give one that imposing feeling most mansions gave but it gave a rather welcoming vibe. The workers in the mansion were about ten in all since the Hudgens liked to do everything themselves. The inside of the mansion was warm and cozy with soft intricate designs that made one feel comfortable upon entering. There was a touch of old paintings and family photos everywhere.

Brown shifted uncomfortably in Hudgens' elegant couch. Her thick curly hair had been tied up into a neat bun with a few strands framing her small face. The knee length maroon dress she had thrown on hurriedly hugged her well defined chest and flowed out at the waist. She'd been summoned back to the mansion a few minutes after she made a call to book a flight to Italy and the look on her parents face told her she was in for an ardours task of convincing them.

" Why did you book a flight to Italy?" Cameron Hudgens' overpowering voice brought Brown to reality. At age fifty-two, Cameron Hudgens was still as handsome and charming as he was in his twenties.

He had a natural charisma that demanded respect and attention wherever he went and Brown held him in awe just like many people did. Looking at her father's expression,she decided to come clean with him since he was bound to find out anyways.

She braced herself and uttered the very words she had never thought she would say in her life. "I'm going to attend Lacy and Kent's wedding",she paused for a moment before adding cautiously "They invited me".

The glass in Perla's hand slipped and shattered into many pieces breaking the silence that had enveloped them.
Perla Hudgens did not pay any mind to the  shattered glass and turned to face her daughter with a stern face. "There's no way I'm allowing you travel halfway around the world and especially not to attend the wedding of those ingrates".

One had to know that that Perla was a very gentle and sweet lady who never raised her voice at anyone and especially not her daughter but clearly, the circumstances were different today.

Brown asked one of the housemaids to clean up the shards of glass and went to sit beside her mother. Knowing that the only way to get Cameron to agree was to get Perla's support, she held her mother's hand gently "Mom I promise I'm over whatever that happened and I want to give them my genuine blessing and besides I want to meet Alexis and have fun. I heard Italy is a nice place to recuperate and relax."

There were visible hints of struggle on Perla's exquisite face. She didn't want her daughter anywhere around Lacy and Kent in case it might trigger old memories but she also agreed Brown needed to let go of things completely and a change of environment too. She turned to Cameron with a defeated look on her face.

Cameron knew he had lost the battle the moment he saw his wife's face. "Are we really letting her do this?"

"Come on Cam, Italy might do her good after all and if you're not assured you could get people to protect her there." Perla stood up and gave him a quick peck .
"Besides you know how much I love Italy" she murmured.

"But why are you spending three weeks over there? A wedding is supposed to last a week at most", Cameron asked Brown skeptically.

Brown knew it was normal for him to be curious so she explained to him.
"Well their organizing a two weeks camp and I'll stay an extra week for sightseeing".

Cameron nodded in understanding and finally gave his consent. "Just give me a call when you run into any trouble and never turn your phone off", He reminded sternly. Brown nodded , happy at the fact that both parents had agreed.

Perla clapped her hands gaily and pulled Brown out of the couch into her arms."Now all we need to do is to go shopping for a few clothes and necessities and you're good to go.
