Brown lay sprawled out on the bed in the hotel room. She felt drained of all energy and could barely lift a finger. This particular journey had been a little too much for her since it was the first time she was traveling again in two years time , but the beauty of Rome simply took her breath away.

For an artist like Brown, beautiful sights like Rome was akin to the refreshing coolness of water against a parched throat. Just the fifteen minutes drive from the airport to the hotel had been enough to make her want to stay in Italy for a while after Lacy's and Kent's wedding.

The thought of the wedding made her glance at the wall clock in her hotel room. She made a mental note on how much time she had to prepare for Lacy's opening banquet.

Brown wondered why they were organizing half a month camp stay and partying for the wedding when they could just hold a bachelor's and bachelorette party for a night and have the wedding the next day. It was obvious that the bride and groom wanted to show off their wealth.

It occurred to Brown that Kent could not afford such a lavish wedding which meant Lacy had to bear the cost and Lacy had always been keen to show off her wealth wherever she went.

She would have missed the insistent ringing of her phone if she hadn't snapped out of her brooding. A smile bloomed on her face when she saw the caller id and even her voice contained a smile when she said hello.
The person on the other end did not seem as pleased as she was .

" You didn't call". Though the voice was gruff, it couldn't hide the pleasing effect it had on a person's ear. It also had a distinct Greek accent which added to it's overall charm.

" I was about to". Brown didn't get offended but her smile rather deepened as she continued "Come on ED, I just got to the hotel and I'm dog tired".

"Oh," ED replied as though he didn't know how to continue or not.

"Well?"Brown urged him to continue.

"How was your flight?"ED asked after clearing his throat for a while.

"It was really peaceful I guess except for this rude guy I bumped into". Brown replied as she put her phone on hands free mode. Just then a thought occurred to her which made her say "Now that I think about it he gives me a familiar vibe but I don't seem to remember where I've met him. It might be his perfume though it smelt really familiar."

There was a long pause at the other end before ED replied with a simple "Oh" but Brown failed to notice any abnormality and continued to ramble " He could have been your brother though with that air of arrogance he's got".

"You think I'm arrogant?" ED asked incredously .

Brown snorted in a good natured manner "Yeah very".

"Is it that bad?" ED asked for the second time.

Brown stopped and contemplated for a while before she replied "Well yes but I think it's because you're insanely handsome, fabulously rich, ridiculously talented, you name it".

"You think I'm handsome." ED stated which made Brown marvel at his train of thought.

She paused to contemplate before answering. "I've seen women go crazy over your looks so yeah you're handsome".

ED chuckled at Brown's answer and decided to change the topic "Are you wearing me the dress I designed for you tonight?" His voice was expectant.

"No it's too beautiful for me to wear on such an occasion. I'd rather wear a low-key dress tonight and wear that on the actual wedding day". With that, she picked an off shoulder, knee length, beige colored dress , took a picture of it and sent it to ED.

She waited for a while to make sure he'd received it and asked "What do you think of this?"

"Well it's perfect for an occasion you don't want to attend but also gives respect to the host".

Brown was elated with ED's analysis and was about to say something when he beat her to it .

"I'll leave you to get ready since I've also got a lot of work to do. Take care". With that,he hung up the phone without waiting for Brown to answer.

She stared at her phone for a while before muttering "bad manners" with a pout . Only God knew how much she loved him. He was the person who helped her cope with her broken heart and treated her better than anyone could have ever treated her besides her parents.

She sighed and turned back to her suitcase on the bed and started rummaging through it. Perla had packed her clothes and accessories neatly stressing on what to wear with and when to wear it. She smiled at the thought of her mother and reminded herself to buy her a gift.

She decided not to take her luggage along with her to Lacy's wedding villa but rather send for it when she settled. Her decision proved to be the best decision ever a few hours later.
