George went about his day playing the song on repeat that Clay had sent him earlier in the morning. He danced around his kitchen slowly swaying like a feather to the delicate song. He was so excited, this had been the best thing to happen to him for a really long time. It had been already a few hours since Clay's flight took off, he should be landing anytime soon now.
The television in the living room had the news turned on, as usual just for some background noise. George had gotten distracted for a moment by some concerning voices coming from the television. The reporter sounded alarmed and spoke fast and loud. George was clueless to what was happening so he listened for longer then what he'd expected to be a quick glance.
Reporter: "Flight 404 is in an emergency situation, police are still investigating the spot were it hit. No survivors have been identified, the impact was too strong."
Reporter #2: Investigators have been at the scene for the past hour trying to figure out what had caused the plane to go down. Sending love to all the families and loved ones out there who may have been affected by this accident."
Flight 404, that was the flight Clay was on...
There was not a chance in the world! It couldn't be true, there was no way he was hearing this. It couldn't be, that was impossible. His pulse began to echo and take over the constant click of the kitchen clock. His head span slightly as if tilted a degree off of it's normal angle. His eyes went blurry and his brain foggy. They must be lying! Things like this happen but not to him! He instantly grabbed his phone and dialled Clay, no answer followed only the recording of Clay's voice...
"Hey you've reached Clay! I guess I'm busy or something cause I can't answer the phone at the moment, please leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible."
Then the low pitched buzz as the connection disconnected.
George blinked once then flung his phone down so he could see the screen with his lips slightly parted away from each other. He rushed through his messages with Clay and seen that earlier he'd accidentally left Clay on read after he'd messaged George the link to the song.
Was it true? Was Clay really gone? Before they could meet? He was on the plane to meet George. Was it George's fault? If he'd not of asked Clay to come this would've never happened? Was this real?
George: "Clay please answer"
He struggled to typed the words he felt his eyes begin to give out to the held back tears. He found his legs staggering around the room anxiously. He paced down the hallway with his hands shaking watching his screen, yet still no reply. He found himself in the bathroom staring at the mirror. Clay was the only one for him. They hadn't even got to meet yet...
He screamed in pain.
His phone dropped to the floor of the bathroom. It might've cracked but George couldn't give less of a fuck about that at the moment. It must've clicked the link to the song since it began to play without a warning. His voice weak he sang along with the song. His teary eyes looked at the reflection standing in-front of him.

He struggled a bit but sang shakily and his face was pale.

All of a sudden and without warning anger pumped through his veins. He yelled and huffed for air. His fist collided with the mirror and he winsed in pain as soon as glass shards wedged their way into the side of his hand. He fell to the ground yelling in agony. He slammed his phone as hard as he could making the already cracked screen go pitch black.
He never even got to meet him face to face...
