'school rooftop' by hisohkah (slowed down)"Hello good sir, are you Clay by any chance?"
The doctor looks at me with a welcoming expression, practically shining through his surgical mask; He towered over me with his slender figure, probably being about 6 foot 5. Even if I was correct or not, he was definitely taller.
"Y-Yes.. I am."
I held back my constant urge of falling asleep. With hindsight, I think I should have at least tried to sleep for just a few minutes or so at George's house. Trying to tell the time was also a bit difficult. All that I get while sitting here is an endless maze of white walls and barely any views of the window from where I'm sat. My phone is dead, which isn't really much help either.
The man gestures with his hands to follow him, and I walk along as told. I settle down, looking around at my new surroundings out of complete boredom.
"Well, we've got you some further information on Sapnap."
His tone becomes stern."It's great that you brought him here sooner. He is in critical condition, but we're doing everything we can to help as quickly as possible."
I continued to let my eyes wonder around the room, presumably his office. There were many framed photos on the walls, accompanied by what looked like his medical certificates. One photo showed a group of people; a teenage boy with blonde wavy hair and a mischevious smile. In the background is a seemingly older man in green, holding a mug saying 'Best Dad' imprinted on it.
A woman dressed in purple was also in the distance, putting her arm around a younger man with a long, flowing pink braid. It looked like quite a chaotic selfie photo for a work space, but I guess it was alright.
I looked at another photo on the side of his desk, showing a nice picture of a sunny place in the middle of nowhere. He himself was in the photo, holding hands with his significant other. They sat under a large willow tree, providing shade; Her dark brown hair reached her chest, falling eloquently onto her dress.
My train of thought is suddenly cut off when he stops talking.
"Are you alright?" The doctor asks.
"Oh- Uhm, Yes" I frantically reply. I haven't slept for 2 days. Was it 2 days or 3 days? My mind can't even remember when I last slept. My eyelids felt extremely heavy; having the dangerously high chance to go to sleep with every blink.
"Well, I think that's all we've got for now, the visiting hours are soon, if you're planning on staying a bit longer." He gets up and opens the door for me to exit, also holding out his hand against it.
"Th-Thank you Mister..."
I look down at the small badge on the front of his uniform.
"Thank you, Mr Gold."
He happily waves, closing the door gently as I step back out into the busy hospital and find a seat. I sat and waited until visiting hours started. I could be back at George's, getting sleep I might actually want to get, but no. I didn't really want anything more than to check up on Sapnap; I don't want to leave him behind.
