Hi! It is a story that take place before all of my earlier one-shots and it will be other one or two, I still don't know. I hope you like it anyway. Good reading;)

It was a sunny day in Pontypandy and all firefighters had duty today. Sam and Elvis were washing Jupiter while Penny and Ellie were washing Venus. Arnold was at the office doing paperwork.

"How long you both want to wait? Until you are grey!" Ellie whispered teasingly into Penny's ear when she was cleaning Venus's windows.

"I don't know what you mean" Penny didn't looked at Ellie. She knew it too well. Ellie would do the same teasing smile and raise eyebrows in disbelief then she remind Penny about Sam. It has been like that always since Ellie begin to notice something. And it was not too long after she came to Pontypnady. On the other hand, Ellie didn't understand how Penny and Sam hhaven'tnoticed it yet, so she desperately tried to help them. It was good she has got a challange-liking character which rarely gave up, because her every try always ended without success, even a little change. It was unbelivable how blind and deaf birds her friends could be.

"You know exactly what I mean! And I don't want to repeat one million times the same song. Penny, I'm your best friend and I want you to be happy" Ellie pleased Penny, but it didn't work this time, because of Penny' reaction. She closed Venus' door energically and walked to put out her sponge on the shelf and went slowly to the door.

"I go check the Neptune, Radar you go with me?" She asked the dog, but he laid his head again on his paws when she ended the sentence.

So she walked alone to the quey, thinking about what Ellie said. She really should have kept her mouth closed next to her when they talked on that night shift. They were alone, only she and Ellie, and Ellie asked her in casual tone if she ever loved someone truly and from this time Ellie has known she has loved Sam. So she kept trying to bring them together in every oppurnity. Even something like making a tea was an oppurnity for her! But after about a month when Ellie tried with something easy, Penny hoped she would have stopped, but it became only worse. She have been doing it rarer, but much more harder to escape. So it made Penny crazy everytime she went to fire station for a shift with Ellie and Sam waiting for another trap from her best friend. Sometimes she didn't do it, sometimes she did it, but the worst was when she made an allusion she didn't want to, but she caught Penny in it when she least expected it.

She reached the Ocean Rescue Center's door. She didn't know what to do now. She walked from the rain under the gutter. At Pontypandy Fire Station she has got Ellie on her head  only her best friend, but at Ocean Rescue Center the rules changed, it would be Ben, who was nice for her, but she rejected him even more times than Ellie's love questions, because he made a good impression on her on his first day at Pontypandy  and because he then fall in love with her. But Penny wasn't that sure if it was so true as he said her.
Finally she forced herself to walk in. It was quite and it seemed like nobody was inside, so she went to locker, got Ocean Rescue Center checking list and went to Neptune. Fortunately she didn't have to talk with Ben, they only exchanged quick hello when they met each other in the door frame when onewas walking inside and the other outside. Penny went slowly to the fire station wanting to apoligize Ellie of her behavior earlier, but when she was there she didn't saw her anywhere. Penny went to Jupiter and heard how Sam told her name.

"I really want to tell Penny, Elvis, but it was too complicated."

"What is so complicated to tell me?" she asked as innocently as she could to seem like she didn't stop to listen to Sam's sentence. She leaned against Jupiter when Sam turned around, despite Elvis strange movements to keep him of it, but it didn't work. Sam, recognazing Penny's question, blushed confused and his gaze laid on the floor. He really wanted to fell under earth now, not only because Penny heared his half confession, maybe more of his talk with Elvis, but also because she would remind him of it to the rest of their days.

"Hi Penny! I meant nothing, yes nothing" Sam said quickly, trying to save himself from it, when of the corner of his eye he noticed how Elvis walked upstairs. He was right, Sam was a coward if it went for love. Elvis knew Sam has loved Penny, of course Sam too, but everytime he tried to talk with her, he felt like a little child who wanted to run away. He was too afraid of rejection that he would rather let it be as it was. They were best friends, they made together a great team. He couldn't risk it all for one nothing worth confession, which could change everything in their relation.

"As you think" Penny shrugged her shoulders and looked at Sam teasingly. She slowly walked to the door.

"Where are you going this time?"

"I have to take Radar for a walk."

"Wait a moment for me! I'll come with you!" Sam shouted after her and ran to reach them on the other side of fire station.

Meanwhile at the kitchen, Elvis turned the kettle on and prepared the cup with teas while Ellie was looking through a window at the park where Radar, Penny and Sam went.

"What are you thinking about, Ellie?" Elvis asked.

"How they are still so blind, deaf, but most of all stupid, after so many time?" she sat exhausted on the chair oposite Elvis.

"If you think they are blind now, you should see them earlier after Penny moved to Pontypandy. At that time they weren't as fine with few things as now" Elvis commented with smile.

"With what things? They are blind all of the time" Ellie wasn't sure she should belive what Elvis told her.

"They joke with each other more openly, at the opening of new fire station they danced more naturally than, earlier, when they learned Station Officer Steele how to do it. They are now really opened to each other."

"It is a shame they aren't that open when it goes for feelings" Ellie sighed with resignation.

"Yeah, maybe you are right. I've talked with Sam so many time..." Elvis couldn't end, because they heard something strange-sounding words from below.

"Are they argueing again?" Ellie sighed in disbelief, quietly walking to the stairs.

"They have argued before?" Elvis asked confused.

"Few times. Come on! This time I don't want to let them clarify it totally on their own. Last time it took them almost whole day" Ellie whispered to Elvis, standing flat behind the wall. When she gave sign to go out, they did it and Sam and Penny immediatelly paid their attention for a moment to them.

"Don't spy us!" They shouted in union.

"We don't spy you, do we, Elvis? We just want to help you clarify it" Ellie said calmy, hile Sam and Penny looked at each other meaningfully and they began to laugh out loud, straight in Ellie's confused face. Elvis highed five with them and smiled to Ellie brightly.

"Caught!" The three of them said, when Ellie finally was delighted and understood the situation.

"You just pretend to argue by few times. And after the arguments too. How you dared?" She asked Penny and Sam angryly.

"Don't be silly, Ellie! It was a joke" Penny teased her best friend.

"Don't you have sence of humor?" Sam asked Ellie as teasingly as Penny.

"You know what! You are worth each other, seriously" she shook her head in disbelief and joy, when she recognized one more thing. "Elvis, you knew about it all, that's why it didn't worry you!" She looked down at Elvis, who nodded his head and ran from the sight of his colleague. Ellie chased him around the fire station, while Sam and Penny were still watching this scene and laughing.

"It was really mean of us to joke of Ellie like that. She just tried to save our friendship" Penny said thoughtfully, looking at Sam.

"Please not again. Now you are the one who don't know what the joke is" Sam joked. "Tag, you chase" he touched Penny's arm and ran from her. But he teased her coming closer then taking a step back. He looked expectedly and was surprised by Penny when he least expected that, as always.
