IT FELT LIKE YOU'VE BEEN HERE FOREVER but it'd only been 3 hours. the talk of chemistry's and maths made the time drag out, especially when you weren't getting it - not all of it though, some was easier to understand than others. but that was partially your fault, you kept zoning out and zoning back in again. by the time you got out of your haze, he was already explaining the next thing and there was no point in you asking him to repeat himself 'cause you would just zone out again.

from time to time you would look at at him and noticed a familiar habit of his which was running his this hand through his blond hair, pushing it out of his face and letting it fall back into place again. whenever he did that, you noticed that his fingers were decorated with rings. he did it so many times you even remembered what finger and hand each ring was on - on his left hand it was his thumb and ring finger and on his right it was just his index.

whilst noticing his rings, your eyes subconsciously ran to his hands which were protruding with veins, popping out of his skin and down this arms which was visible because he was wearing short sleeves. for someone who didn't do any type of sports he had nice arms, like maybe he went to the gym but you doubt it.

he would also glance at you a few times to make sure you were understanding it, which made you realise how blue his eyes were. they were the perfect shade of clear sky blue, holding all the intelligence and wisdom into the blacks of his pupils which would slightly dilate whenever he looked at you-

"do you understand?" he asked, looking up from the book, the pen pointing at one of the paragraphs in the chemistry textbook. there it was again, his pupils slightly dilating just as you said.

"huh?- oh yeah" you said dishonestly which he could instantly sense by the tone of your voice. "you don't sound so sure? were you even listening?" he clicked his pen and set it on the table, tilting his head.

"obviously" you mumbled and rolled your eyes, not trying to make it obvious that you were lowkey checking him out, "i'm just tired" he huffed, leaned back in your chair and letting your head fall back.

"i guess it's getting a little late" armin looked at his phone and noticed you've both been studying for quite a while now. he also sensed that you were quickly growing bored since you were zoning out from time to time.
"we'll pick this up on monday" he started to close his books which made you sigh with relief - also the fact that he gave you sunday  off. he continued to close his books and prepare himself to leave, you didn't really have to pack anything away since you didn't really bring anything.

"we'll meet here after school on monday" he announces, now standing up.

"okay, but your gonna have to wait till after practice" you confirmed, realising how organised and somewhat commanding he is. "that's fine" he mumbled and shrugged, already dreading the hour long wait he would have to do on monday.

you now got up and you both headed to the exit of the library. when you opened the double doors to exit, you were hit by the rays of the golden hour hitting your face and the cool breeze hit your facade, since it was the middle of september, it wasn't too hot nor too cold. it was warm and comforting which you were thankful for because this was the weather you had to walk home in. you looked at up at armin before saying your goodbyes.

"see you in school blondie" you waved him off as you turned the other direction and started to walk off. he watched you walk off and wanted to so badly stop you. he didn't think it was fair that you had to walk home especially since he bought his car with him. without thinking, he called out your name.

"wait, y/n" he calls out, making you halt in your actions and turn around to look at him. you admired the way the golden hour was doing him justice at the moment - and just when you thought his eyes couldn't get any blue. "what?" you blinked at him.

it wasn't only you that was admiring him in the golden hour, he was doing the exact same, applauding the way your skin glowed and the way your eyes turned light brown from the sun. although, you were wearing sweats right now and you may not think you looked your best, he would beg to differ.

"do you need a ride home?" he pointed back towards his car.

you thought for a second - not that there was much to think about. someone's offering you a ride home, what logic was it to say no? before giving an answer, you already started walking closer to him.

"sure, thanks" you mumbled as you made your way past him and round to the passengers side. armin let out an exhale, relieved that you took up his offer and preventing any type of awkwardness. he unlocked his side of the door and got in.

not to be misunderstood, you were grateful for the car ride, but the question now was: how do I make this less uncomfortable?

a familiar street came into sight, after you had been guiding armin throughout your 5 minute ride. giving him directions seemed to be the only conversation going on between the 2 of you. he listened intensively and you pointed to the left or to the right.

"you can drop me here, that's fine" you informed him, in which he nodded. he pulled over to the sidewalk, to allow you easy access to get out. "thanks for the ride blondie" you thanked, hoping it would have came out more genuinely than expected.

"no problem" he replied, watching you get down from his car. just after you closed the door behind you, armin began to think. he's been wanting to say something for the longest time but doesn't seem to know when to say it. however, a sudden burst of confidence told him to proceed:

"y/n?" he called out just after he rolled down the window, you hadn't walked that far so he was loud enough for you to hear him. you slightly raised an eyebrow and slowly walked up to his car again, feeling very suspicious. "yeah..."

he started to grow a little flustered and the burst of confidence that he got earlier was starting to fade, but he couldn't back down now when he already got your attention. he collected himself, quietly clearing his throat, "i just wanna say sorry, you know for spilling my drink on you" you noticed that he started to get quieter when it came to the end of his sentence and a red tint growing across his cheeks.

you couldn't help but feel slightly sadistic as a grin grew on your face from his obvious reminiscent embarrassment. you propped your arms crossed on the rolled down window and slightly leaned into the car. "it's cool blondie, the stain came out, and i guess i sort off overreacted" you hated to admitting, although, in the spur of the moment anyone would have reacted the same way you did.

"no, your reaction was understandable" he sympathised. he felt himself getting less nervous after you accepted his apology. "but if you spill another drink on me again, i ain't forgiving so easily" you partially joked in which armin began to chuckle. you both could feel knot slowly severe as you slightly began to warm up to him. nothing to big though, there was still a long way to go.

"anyway, see you in school blondie" you exhaled whilst pushing off his car, finding your balance once again. "bye, and don't forget to actually bring something next time" he had to kind of shout since you were already starting to walk down to sidewalk. you waved him off, not bothering to turn around, to indicate to him that you heard him.

armin rolled back up his window and watched you walk until he couldn't see you anymore. he let out an elongated sigh of relief - now to the whole 'spilling my drink on her' incident is sorted, the only thing he needs to do now was to just tutor you.
