Zi'an YiYi

EPILOGUE

It has been one year since the Shangyi Five had graduated from school. According to their deal, all of them should meet at Ning Xiang Pavilion, now the famous Five Flavour Restaurant. Dugu had already arrived at Chang'an with Rou. Yiyi had been very excited days before the actual meeting, arranging the private room where they were to meet, thinking and listing what to cook. She let out all her excitement and worries to Zi'an, who calmly gave his suggestions.

In the morning of their meeting day, Zi'an offered to take Yiyi to the market to buy some goods, much to Yiyi's surprise. As they walked through the market hand-in-hand, Yiyi went on with her endless chatter. Zi'an listened to her with a loving smile on his face. He loved listening to her voice.

"The Five Scholars of Shangyi School shall meet today. What do you think we shall eat by then?" Yiyi asked.

"I shall leave the food issue to you."

Yiyi smiled at her husband as she realised how much he trusts her. She continued her talking.

"Jiuhua and Yu'er just stick to each other everyday. I wonder what Dugu and Xinyuan do everyday."

She expected to get an answer, but when she looked up to Zi'an she saw him lost in thoughts. She became a bit annoyed by his sudden indifference to her. It was unusual of him to not listen to her.

"Zi'an", she called.
Zi'an looked startled and quickly looked at her.
"Are you with me?"
He found himself lost for words. Yiyi got more annoyed. "You are hiding something from me."
Zi'an caught her cheeks and said,"Why are you so skeptical all the time?"

"If you are not hiding anything from me, you will kiss me." She showed her cheek with her finger.

"Ok. I have got business to do. Go back to the Five Flavour restaurant. I shall meet in the evening. See you." Yiyi was taken aback.

"Yang Zi'an, where are you going? Yang Zi'an! Yang Zi..." Someone pushed Yiyi from behind which almost made her fall. She stared blankly at the path where Zi'an disappeared, without saying a word to her or looking at her.

"Something is wrong. He refused to make eye contact with me." Yiyi frowned. "If he doesn't come clean in the evening, I will make it hard for him."

In the evening, Yiyi suspended the restaurant and took the cooking work upon herself. In the private room kept for their meetings every year, Tangtang along with Yu'er, Dugu alongside Rou and Xinyuan were seated across a big table. They were happily drinking until Yiyi arrived with the dishes.

"The dishes are coming!"
"Finally!" Tangtang exclaimed. "I am starving."
"So many dishes today, Yiyi", said Xinyuan.
Dugu smiled. "With Yiyi being there, a feast is always available." All of them nodded in agreement. Tangtang sniffed the dishes and said,"Yiyi, seeing the quality and outlook of the dishes, it seems you are managing the restaurant well."

Yiyi put the last plate before saying,"Of course I am. I am the lady boss in any sense."
