"Y-You promised!" Maki began, tears welling up in her eyes as she spoke. "You told me you would be there for me! That you'd protect me and never leave! But you- you fucking left Touya!" She yelled at him.
"Maki. I'm sorry! I had no other choice. My father didn't fucking care about me! Maki, I left for my own good!" Touya began speaking, his eyes glossy as he looked at the lost best friend of his.
"I was a failure! To my own fucking father! Can you even fucking imagine?!" Touya began rambling, his mind running back to the time
His father neglected him for his brother, Shoto."Actually, I can. My whole family left me, abandoned me to take care of my brother, at 6 fucking years old Touya. I was abandoned, you abandoned someone. It doesn't matter if you were a failure in your douchebag of a fathers eyes! You were a great person to everyone. In my eyes, Fuyumi's, Natsuo's, and your mothers eyes, you were great! And here you dare say you left because he thought you were a failure?!" Maki yelled at him, her eyes full of rage.
Touya kept his head low as his eyes fluttered in the dark, the street light shone over half of his face.
"Maki- I-." He began. But she cut him off by running up to him and hugging him.
"You fucking douchebag." Maki mumbled.
Touya left, he did. But what shocked Maki the most was that he never came back.
Maki let go of him and stood in front of him, he was wearing a smile across his face. Each staple moved across his face as his burnt skin moved upwards.
That's when she realized. Maki gasped and approached him. Maki put her hand on his face, examining the huge burns littering his jaw and neck. "What happened?! Touya?" Maki began as she watched each part of his skin. The purple hue was wrinkled and burnt.
"No, the accident at Sekoto Peak happened, however I decided not to tell anyone that I was alive. These burns were caused by it. I'm sorry Maki. I should've told you..you were the only one that listened to my pleas, that understood me and my feelings. I'm sorry.." Touya explained and apologized.
Maki looked at him as her eyes became glossy from the memory. She remembered the day as if it was yesterday. The day Touya was supposed to show Endeavor the way he improved with his quirk. But he never came. Maki was there...however Touya ended up having overwhelming emotions through his whole body as the flames sent a burst of blue fire throughout the whole forest. Maki still to this day have a couple of burns from that day, however Touya was badly injured by it. Leading to the permanent purple burns that cover his body.
She remembered the day vividly, the rage that filled Touya after realizing that Enji would never come. He was too preoccupied with his golden child, Shoto.
He looked down at Maki with a sad smile. "I should've came to tell you about it. But I just couldn't find the courage to actually do it. I thought you moved on.." He said with a sad tone in his voice.
Maki looked into his eyes. Seeing the pain and regret filling his expression, tears on the waterline of his eyes.
"I forgive you, dork." Maki chuckled as she hugged him once again. He wrapped his arms around her body and lifted her slightly into the air.
Maki chuckled. "Put me down, Touya." She said, ruffling his fluffy white hair.
"Ahem." A voice interrupted their small reunion. Maki and Touya looked back into the alley, only to see Atsuhiro standing there, a black and white mask in hand as he looked at the two with a quirk of his eyebrow.
