The Baby Arrangement

"Mommy." Miranda squealed excitedly. She hadn't seen her parents in person in almost 2 years.

"Mandy." Elena smiled hugging her.

"Where's daddy?" Miranda asked curiously.

"He's getting the bags. He didn't want me to help."

"Oh okay."

"I still can't believe in 2 months my daughter will have a daughter." She smiled putting her hands on her stomach, immediately feeling her kick.

"Wow she is so active."

"Yeah she normally only does that with Ben, especially when he starts talking." Miranda

smiled.

"And where is Ben?" Her mother asked putting her hand on her hip.

"He is at work, but he should get off in an hour." Miranda responded.

"Are you finally going to tell us how this happened?" Elena asked raising an eyebrow.

"Mom how do people get pregnant."

"Don't be a smart ass, you know what I meant."

"We were friends who started having sex, now this." Miranda said plainly before walking into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water. "We are overjoyed and ecstatic to be having a baby."

"Hey daddy." Miranda cheesed looking up as he came inti the door.

"Hey baby girl.... wow you're big."

Miranda gasped and frowned looking down.

"William!" Elena scolded.

"I meant your stomach, not you." He explained apologetically. "It's just seeing you in person. Your belly didn't look this size on the screen.

Miranda nodded pulling at her shirt now self-conscious.

"Uh let me show you to your room." Miranda said waddling off.

Miranda showed her parents to the guest room and got them fresh towels and washcloths.

"When Ben gets off, he is taking us out to dinner." She informed them.

Miranda sat on the couch and cut on a movie and her parents joined in watching with her. She turned her head towards the door as she heard the door knob jiggle.

"Hey." Ben greeted walking in.

"Hey." Miranda smiled. " You remember my parents."

"Yes, How, could I forget. It's nice seeing you, both again."

Miranda watched as he shook her dad's hand and hugged her mom.

"Okay, if you all will give me about 15 minutes to shower and change my clothes, then we can leave."

"Hey Ben can you check my phone and see if that's cardio's department head emailing me back?"

Ben walked over and grabbed Miranda's phone checking to see what the notification was.

Brian: I had a good time yesterday; do you want to go out again Saturday night?

Ben read the message and was tempted to click on the previous ones. Throwing her phone back down he walked to her bathroom and took a quick shower.

Getting dressed he walked back into the living room.

"Did I get an email?" Miranda asked looking up at him.

"Nope just a text message." Ben gritted out.

"From who? Why didn't you bring me my phone? We are getting ready to leave anyway?" Miranda asked curiously rocking to get off the couch.
