Tuesday came around, March 15 of 2020. A knock was heard from my door, and Emily peeks into my room.

"Are you ready yet?" She asks. I was returning back to school today. It's been about a month since dad forced me to stay home. Not sure why, I was always locked in my room. But I get to finally breathe in the fresh toxic air that's awaits me.

"Oh, dear! That's the wrong skirt." Emily walks over to the closet and tosses me a black pladded skirt.

"I forgot it was black." I sigh, she pats my head then exits the room. I change and stare at the mirror.

It was decent, I shrugged my shoulders

It was decent, I shrugged my shoulders. Grabbed my black bag and headed down to the dining room. Dad is usually not in the house around this time, so I get to relax without being controlled by him.

"Will you be eating today?" She asks, I shake my head.

"Stay safe, call if you need anything." She waves and resumes to clean the kitchen counter. A cold breeze came whooshing in. My body shivers as I walk off to school. God my thighs were numbing, I should've worn my stockings.

....

It's freezing cold! I stomped on the snow angrily. Not many people are aware of my family problems since we are seen "perfect", but mostly with the amount of money flowing around. People would ask dad, "How can your daughter be the ideal child someone could ever want?" it's because I'm scared...Scared of the abuse. He wants everything perfect when he isn't close to perfection himself.

School grades must always be 90 or above, never leave the house without his permission nor speak about what happens in the house or consequences will be applied.

Last month, I scored one point lower then a 90 and all my privileges were revoked. My car was taken, phone, you name it! He absolutely hates me, but he tends to call me his special Angel.

So...I'm forced to walk to school which is a honest pain not going to lie.

- Beep Beep -

I heard a car beeping behind me, a gray pickup truck pulled up. The window slowly slid down and there was August behind the steering wheel.

"Get inside, I was looking for you." He points to the passenger seat. I immediately dash my way inside.

I am saved.

"God, you must be freezing." He cried.

"I'm fine." I gave him a reassuring smile.

He cup his hands around my cheeks to give some of his warmth. I giggle, his hands were freezing just like mines.

"It okay, stop being a baby." I tease him, he rolled his eyes.

"Why are you walking??" He screech.

"Lost my car keys." I lied.

"You literally have a driver, Luna." He stared at me unfazed.

"He has business with my Dad." I lied again. He stares at me for a good minute, thinking or observing my behavior.

"Whatever." He mumbles, reaching behind the back seats to grab some blankets to cover me up.

I leaned my head against the headrest and watched the snow fall down slowly from the sky. It was beautiful yet annoying to have.

10 minute car ride later, we arrived to the school campus.

The school was great but the students attending were are literally demons

The school was great but the students attending were are literally demons. August parks his truck and we head inside the school. Normally we would have to check in with our school ID's but the person wasn't here yet which saves us from a totally awkwardness.

It been a month since I didn't have to walk all these stairs, I did not miss it once so ever.

"August, I have to head-" I was cut off by some girls yelling.

"No way." The blonde girl gasps.

August looks over to the girls annoyed. "When are they never loud." He mumbles to himself.

"I have to head to the counselor to receive my new sched-" I get cut off by one of the girls again.

"August, how are you doing?" She wraps her arms behind August waist, then she looks over at me with total disgust.

August glances down at her, unfamiliar with who she is. "Do you remember me, we kissed at that party last week." She giggles and squeezes his waist more.

"Who-" He pauses for a good second, "asked?". His face showed no expression, but her face says otherwise.

She immediately freed her arms from his waist and simply pouts like a 5 year old. "How could you say that to me?" She cries.

August smiles, bending down to whisper something in her ear. Seconds later, her eyes became watery and she dashes out the hall.

The hall became quiet, all eyes landed on us. I shifted my stance uncomfortably.

"What did you say to her?!" I gasp. He raised his index finger to his lips signifying it was a secret, I rolled my eyes.

"But anyways, what you was going to do?" He changes the topic.

"Schedule." I pointed to the counselor room.

"Okay, I'll see you later then." He pats my head and waves. I wave back as well.

I slowly stride my way off to the counselor room, wondering what classes will be given to me.
