Third person povKaren was flying around the City of Metropolis when she noticed a little boy came back up against a corner of an alleyway. There some people that like they're about to rob him or beat them up or worse kill him.
There were 4 men surrounding him as he kept backing up into the corner. She watches as he walks for the back until he was up against the wall. The child had nowhere to go she then knew that she had to do something and that he was in trouble.
She instantly flew down and landed right in front of the boy to shield him from the men. The 4 men look at each other, one of them uses a crowbar to hit her but before he could even hit her she grabs a crowbar in his hand and yanks it out of his hand.
The man stopped dead in his tracks and realize what he have just done. Now he what is defenseless against a super powered woman as he wasn't going to get out of this without being hurt.
She then backhands him with it, in which sent him flying right into a dumpster with the lead closing on top of them. The other three men watched just what happened to him. They Turn their attention towards powergirl who was slowly moving closer to them. The three men started to back up as the woman kept getting closer and closer.
They immediately ran far away as possible. Powergirl smirk to herself as she watched them run away from her. The moment the Superheroine knew that the crooks were gone she turns her attention to the frightening child. The Child was cowering in fear who was on their knees with their arms wrapped around their head shielding their eyes away.
She knees down to their level so she can show that she means no harm to them. She gently put her right hand on the child who automatically didn't react to it.
"Hey are you alright kid" she asked but got no response from the child Who was still silent which got her worried a little bit.
The woman gently turns the child around so that he was facing her. The child was still not looking up at her probably because they were too terrified to look up. Any child will be terrified after what just happened but wouldn't take any chances. It took a few more moments for the child to actually look up at her.
When he was is fully looking at her his wen wide at who was in-font of him. His frightened face turns into a smile full of joy, he then does certain that shocks powergirl. The boy wraps both of his arms around her neck and hugged her. This action surprises her no one has ever hugged her like this especially a child so she's entirely new to this.
As the boy was hugging her he was also saying thank you at the same time. The boy was being grateful for the woman saving him from being who knows what if those guys had got a hold of him. Specially what they could've done with him if she didn't do anything.
She can't figure out how she is comfortable with a child hugging her like this and her not hugging him back. This feeling was starting to feel new to her but it was also starting to feel familiar.
She decided to just go with it and hug child back while giving out smooth pats on the back. The young boy noticed what she was doing but the side to go with it and let her pat him on the back like if he was a infant who needed to be burped. He loves it when someone would give them a hug because it was very friendly get hug from anyone.
As the two kept on hugging for what seemed like a couple of minutes they broke the hug and powergirl took the kid back to where he live. What shocked powergirl was that the kid did not have a home that he was an orphan. Which orphans live in an orphanage we don't have homes or families.
After they both went their separate ways PowerGirl still had that feeling inside of her head and still couldn't make it out what it was and how it was so familiar to her.
It kind of reminded her of someone, someone she used to know. She tries to pass not to overthink it and head back home to her apartment but the thought of the child was still on her mind.
When she got home she got out of superhero suit and put on some pajamas and got ready for bed. She took a small shower before she got in bed. The shower was long and short so she didn't need to jack up her water bill for the month.
(This is her bedroom apartment)As She got in bed she still couldn't get the thought of that child that was still on her mind. Especially when he gave her a hug for saving him from a couple of idiots trying to mug him.
The feeling that was given off from the child was probably cuz of her being a clone of Superman's cousin kara aka Super-Girl. She probably had some of her memories of her mother before krypton was destroyed.
That's what probably made her and Supergirl were similar but they both had their differences. When they first met it didn't go so well and it didn't end well either.
Power Girl didn't have a childhood because she was a clone from supergirls dna. Power Girl is the cousin of flagships hero Superman, but from alternate universe.
But she couldn't be the reason why she still had the small child on her mind. Was it because she and the child made a connection or was it something else, something more important but whatever could it be. She decided to just sleep it off and maybe she'll figure it out in the morning. But she'll have to sleep with the thought on her mind.
