Let me resume what happen so far.

Last night I was attacked by Kalawarna, a Fallen Angel, so seeing my short coming in skill I had no option than using the Assasin class card which contained Okada Izou.

And then I was called up by Rias Gremory-senpai for a meeting with me and I went along just to get some answers and so I discovered the shocking truth that no matter what, Issei will never come along, since I had the Boosted Gear and not him since Sacred Gears are just one of a kind, so copies are not possible and I can clearly confirm that this is the real thing and not some imitation.

Thus Rias-senpai had giving me the offer to join her peerage.

But I had my own plans. Plans that are not possible if I were to become a devil, so I had to remain human. Plus I didn't want to be anyone's subordinate unless its necessary, which this is not.

"I also want to know if you know anything regarding the figure clad in samurai clothing that killed the Fallen Angel last night." Rias also dropped another bomb at me.

So they don't realize that the 'figure in samurai clothing' was me? Well, to be fair, my Servant form while using the Class Card of Assassin was that of Izou in his second Ascension form from Fate/Grand Order, plus by the how it would look by the third party, I used a blinding spell which made me able to escape and then a unknown figure just appeared out of nowhere.

With that on order. I replied with all assurance of the world about her offering. "Sorry, I refuse to join your peerage and becoming a devil."

They went quite for a while. And then Rias broke the ice by asking me. "W-Why? You could get to understand more about your Sacred Gear if you were to join us."

I replied by saying. "You say that. Then let me ask you, how do know about last night? It was as if you were watching me while expecting me to die."

She stiffles while I noticed that Koneko-chan had just trembled pretty hard at my words while also looking guilty about that.

So much for friendship. But it at least she feels guilty of it.

"Of course not! Since the one was a Fallen Angel, we couldn't make a move since she could have belonged to a faction of Fallen Angels, so if we interfered a conflict could have happened." That... does makes sense. Better avoiding a potential direct conflict rather than going for it just for the sake of a random human that she's not even affiliated with her.

"Okay, I accept that excuse. But even so, I wish to remain independent. After all, I want to remain human rather then throwing my humanity aside like a wimp." Devils had their own pride, isn't it? So why a human shouldn't? Issei may have accepted it because of his perverted stupidity and lack of pride, but I'm not like that, I have my pride and I'm content with being human.

"Do you realize that they may target you again, right?" Rias-senpai says while looking at me with a calculating look. While she's not the commander, nor the warrior, type of leader. She's more like a CEO from a company than anything else. Which makes her formidable on this kind of issues.

"I have my ways around handling such a issue. Plus I want to make a bet, if you may allow it?" I said that as I already put my plan on the roll.

"And what is that?" Alright, she will hear me out.

"I request duel with your peerage members." I know this may be ardous and such, but this is the only way I had to make the devils to recognize that I am not helpless.
