chapter 16: really? chicken nuggets?

kane's P.O.V.

I was busy with some paperwork when I heard the door to my study open, I look up nd my mate was standing there, staring at me. damn she has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen.

I immediately get up and walk to here, I realize that I accidently used my super speed to get to her but I don't mention it.

she was lost in though so I cupped he face with my hand to bring her back to reality, my hands are so big compared to her face. the sparks in my hands made my wolf howl with excitement , he was very happy to be touching our mate after years of searching for her.

I was worried about her, she could reopen the wounds on her legs.

"Are you ok angel? you shouldn't be out of bed, I don't want you to hurt yourself."

I see her cheeks flush pink when I called her angel, so she likes pet names ?

she only nods and looks up at me, I stare into her ocean blue eyes. I could drown in those eyes, fuck I would love to get lost in them for hours. she notices that i'm staring, her cheeks get redder and she looks away.

fuck, she's adorable but I don't like that she is looking away.

I life her head and smile at her, shes so cute.

"Don't look away baby, you don't have to be embarrassed for looking at your mate."

she seems to realize something and that's when she asked me something that broke my heart.

"so, you won't kill me?"

I cant hide the amount of pain this question caused me and I know that she can see the amount of pain I feel.

"no, no, no angel, why would you ever even think that I would hurt you? you are my mate and I would never hurt you."

I hug he gently, I don't want to hurt her anymore, god it would kill me if she got hurt again because of me.

in one swift move I pick her up and walk to the bed, I try not to think of all the other reasons I would take her to this bed because its not the right time. I place her on the bed facing me.

"now tell me, why would you ever even think that I would hurt you."

I can see that she's uncomfortable and I notice that she's trying to change the subject.

she askes if she can have something to eat since she hasn't eaten in a while. I don't want to change the subject but this made me worry.

"when last did you eat baby."

I know I use a lot of pet names but I like it.

I can she her thinking back and I get worried, it cant be that long ago... can it

she then answers

"about a week ago."

I snap

"A WEEK AGO!?"

I see her flinch and I try to calm down, I dint want to scare her, she should never be scared of me.

I hug her and breath in her scent, this helps me calm down and my wolf is content. fuck I feel so guilty.

"I'm so sorry my angel, you were in my pack for three days and I didn't even look after you, you were in the hospital because of me and you're hurt because I was to scared to face you, I'm so sorry baby... I'll get you anything you want, just say the word."

i waited for her to ask for whatever food she wanted.

"can i have chicken nuggets... and after that we can talk ?"

chicken nuggets...

really ?

I couldn't help but chuckle and I pull my phone out to ask one of my pack members to go out and get some McDonalds.

"your chicken nuggets are on their way angel, but seriously, chicken nuggets?"

she smiles and tries to justify the chicken nuggets.

i smile and remember that she wants to talk after her "food"

"we can most definitely talk after, i want to know everything about you, my mate.

i cant believe i have her, i finally found her after years of waiting and searching.

i want to know everything about her.
