*BANG*
There was a gunshot, everyone was panicking and trying to run out the kitchen door. Estelle grabbed the arms of Joseph and mine, pulling us up the stairs. Where were we going? She brought us to my room, bringing us by my cedar wood closet. She quickly opened the doors of the closet and started moving all my silk dresses to the side with shaking hands.

"Joseph help me push the backing" Estelle said in a whisper but loud enough to hear the worry in her voice.

They pushed the backing and it fell in a dark dusty grey room that could fit about only 5 people.

" Go in quickly, come on, make haste! "

We quickly climbed in, Estelle tried pushing the dresses back to how they were and pushed the backing of the closet back to its original place, making hard for anyone to know where we were. I looked around the small space to notice a fairly large painting of mother, I wasn't surprised at all.

" Since when did we have this?" I whispered quietly into Estelle's ear.

" Your father had these made a month or so ago, he made them knowing that something like this would come. He just didn't know when, all he knew was that this wouldn't come so soon. Now, we should rest, the Nazis will be here for a while, and I have a strong doubt that they will find us."

I stared at the painting of mother for a bit longer, analyzing each detail, until it dawned on me.

" Joseph, our parents are downstairs, what do we do?!? We need to go and get them!" I said in a cracking voice, tears starting to come down my face.

" No, everything is fine, your parents built room like this in their room, and I'm sure they took Joseph's parents with them." Estelle said caressing my hair.

I started to slowly drift off to sleep, hoping that a dream would make me forget about this nightmare.

I heard screaming in my sleep, thinking it was in my dreams. I woke up to the sound of a starting engine, I waited for it to fully disappear until I woke up Estelle and Joseph.

" I think they're gone" I said trying to pull the backing on to the floor so we could get out.

We climbed out and quietly walked across the room to my door. We waited a couple of seconds to make sure no one was still in the house. I was the first one out of my room and I quickly went to my parents room. I entered the room to find the closet opened and my fathers suits on the floor. I made my way to the closet to peek into the secret room to find only what was left of my parents, my mothers one diamond earring that she was wearing at my engagement party.
