"Let go of me before I call the police." Yeri hissed, trying to remove her hand from the man's vice like grip.
Sure, having a latte was an ideal way of spending her one day off.
Maybe spending her time trying out dresses at a pop up shop.
It was a perfectly good morning and Yeri was not enjoying the ridiculous outburst the drunk man who was currently grabbing his wrist.
"Aw, Yerim. I thought we were still friends."
"Since when did you thinking lead to anything good?" Yerim glared, trying to shaking her arm out of the grasp.
"I hear you've gotten and internship at NEX."
"That's none of your business Haebin. Leave me alone." She retorted. Haebin laughed, eyes flicking to a nearby club building. Yerim rolled her eyes but, her heart raced as two guys walked out from it and moved in beside Haebin.
"Are you part of a gang Haebin? Are you still not civilized enough?" She hissed.
"Oh, Yeri, you're speaking big words. I just wanted to catch up. Are you too good for your ex?"
Yeri felt her palms sweat, taking her other hand in attempt to pry Haebin's arm off. He looked at her wrist and held on tighter. She looked around, seeing how practically no one was available for her to yell for help.
It's okay, breathe Yeri.
You're going to be okay.
"Is it so wrong that I wanted to say hi? Let's grab a meal."
"I said no." Yeri sneered, and Haebin's smile faded. Never in a million year would she have thought that she would be encountering Lee Haebin out in the streets like this.
"You think you're some kind of hotshot now that you work at Nex?" Haebin asked, yanking her forward. Yeri peered at the two guys beside him who seemed indifferent to her circumstance, both looking around for people.
Yeri gnawed her inner cheek, feeling her breath shorten. "You better let go of me or else I'll-"
"Yeri." a familiar voice called out. Yeri swiveled her head around, eyes widening at the sight of the man she had only seen at work. He was wearing a short sleeve and Yeri had almost taken him for a senior in high school.
Jeon Jungkook.
Yeri's heart lurched, thrilled that there was someone she knew, and let out a long breath.
Jungkook was staring at her, glancing towards the guy holding her arm. His hand were tucked into his pockets and Yeri wondered if he would just walk away, unbeknownst to the situation she was in.
"You two know each other? You could do so much better than her, believe me." Haebin grinned, slightly wobbling.
Jungkook gave them an indifferent smile, slowly walking towards the guy.
Yeri scoffed, "What is it to you?"
Jungkook ripped Haebin's hand away from Yeri's wrist, gently taking her shoulder and pulling her beside him. A immediate wave of relief rushed over her as she rubbed her wrist, heart thudding.
"Either you leave, or we call the police." Jungkook replied, arms folded.
"Police? But we know each other, right, Yeri?" Haebin turned to face Yeri. She stared at his bloodshot eyes and the desperate smile of his and glowered.
