The First Day

" Yerim-ssi," Jungkook says one day. Yoongi and Seungwan had left for their lunch break and Yeri couldn't help but notice the tensions between their bosses melt into a sweet and light-hearted atmosphere.
" What? " Yeri asks fiercely, eyes still not looking at the computer. Jungkook quietens down beside her and lets out a sigh.
" I'm sorry," he says softly before Yeri turns her head in surprise.
" I don't see why you should be," Yeri said with a shrug, feigning a look of indifference. Jeon Jungkook had the ability to be...kind?
This was obviously quite an insight because Jungkook had cleared his throat after squirming uncomfortably under Yeri's gaze. The young woman blinks out of her trance and goes back to her work as if she hadn't been trying to investigate what Jungkook was really about.
" I'm not much of a people person so it may have seemed like I was being rude. I'm sorry if it looked like that."
Yeri sniffed, fingers hovering on the keyboard.
This is business, not high school.
" No, it's fine. We are a competition after all. I don't suppose being friends would do much for us anyway. I'm sorry for bringing it up," Yeri said quite bluntly, seeing how Jungkook had flinched at her response.
She had come to NEX News for a job and until she had gotten it, there was rno reason as to why she would have to make friends. Last time she attempted to make friends with another intern, her chances of getting the job had vanished into thin air.
Friends? Useless.
" Competition?" Jungkook asked lightly, staring at Yeri with confusion.
" Yes, did you not hear Chief Min when he said there was only one spot in his team? I don't plan on losing to you," Yeri said haughtily, Turing back to Jungkook with her fierce expression. Her hair, once perfectly in place, was now slightly tousled by her finger, and Jungkook couldn't help but watch Yeri, intrigued by her confidence.
"Ah...I see." Jungkook said, trailing his fingertips against the plastic separator.
" Breaking news, a car-accident near the Han River ..." Sooyoung's reporter voice filled the quiet silence between Yeri and Jungkook, as another day begins. Yeri notes her lip, hands rubbing her forehead.
Stupid Kim Yerim.
Couldn't you have just been nice?
Yeri turns to other interns, hair bobbing to one side, and face covered by the plastic divider. Her stomach twisted with guilt, and slowly Yeri pried her eyes away from Chief Min's favorite intern.

So first the first time in her life, Kang Seulgi was dating. Moreover, a charming Park Jimin at that. In fact, she could hardly accept the fact that she was indeed dating him.
Today was an unsurprisingly boring day. Seulgi had been sprawled on her mini sofa, trying to edit the latest copy of the broadcasting script. Biting her pen, Seulgi rereads the messy packet before nodding her head and deciding to head over to her manager's office to get the script approved.
